8 Teams that should compete in a tournament to crown the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions

All Elite Wrestling has just finished their debut show, and while some will always have criticisms, it's safe to say that it's one of the greatest wrestling shows of the past decade, and sets them up for a positive beginning to TNT later in the year. We've seen the unveiling of the AEW World Championship (one of the best looking titles in wrestling today), but now it's time for AEW to lift the lid on their other titles. The best way to crown a new Champion? A Tournament.

Despite being early in the life of All Elite Wrestling, the tag team division has already become as stacked as any in the world, and after the classic between Best Friends/Angelico & Jack Evans and The Young Bucks/Lucha Bros, it's going to be hotly contested. But the division extends beyond those 4 teams, and today we are going to look at the 8 teams that should contest a single elimination tournament in order to crown the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions (likely at All Out in August).

#8 Private Party

Private Party is the most unknown tag team within AEW, and while we are yet to see them compete in a tag team match for AEW, a quick YouTube search of their highlights reveals incredible young performers. They've yet to see the big stage, but when they do, you'll notice quite a lot of similarities to The Young Bucks; colourful, energetic and plenty of innovative tag team offence.

They're unlikely to succeed early on in All Elite Wrestling, but the talent is there, and if they can continue to go toe to toe with some of the best tag teams in the entire industry, the future is very bright. Marq Quen and Isaiah Kassidy aren't two names that many people would expect to be superstars, but AEW is clearly building for the present and for the future, and these two represent a very promising future for this stacked tag team division.
