8-time WWE champion to retire and help Shawn Michaels run NXT after Bad Blood? Exploring the possibilities

Shawn Michaels has done an incredible job during his tenure in charge of NXT. Under him, several young, up-and-coming superstars have risen to new heights. So much so, that it's clear that the next faces of the business will most likely come from the developmental brand. But, at the age of 59, HBK could use some help, and he might just get it in the form of an eight-time WWE champion who could retire after Bad Blood.

The eight-time champion in question here is none other than CM Punk. The 45-year-old star has a huge match ahead of him at WWE Bad Blood. Facing off against his arch-nemesis Drew McIntyre, Punk is preparing to step into the ring for a Hell in a Cell match. It's sure to be one of the toughest matches in his career, but it also could be his last.

Last night on RAW, CM Punk cut a promo that left everyone with the impression that he is going to leave it all in the ring come Bad Blood. Granted, he made it clear that he is far from done with wrestling, and he fully plans to defeat The Scottish Warrior.

But, Should the opposite happen, a loss may just prompt him to retire. If that comes to pass, the natural course of action for him would be to join Shawn Michaels in NXT. After all, he has previously expressed interest in helping run the brand.

It would be amazing to see CM Punk and Shawn Michaels working together. Two wrestling greats, helping the best talent in the company reach the next level. Who would say no to that?

Shawn Michaels is all set for tonight's episode of NXT and surely has something incredible planned. But, if the best the brand has to offer isn't enough, the WWE Universe will also get to see CM Punk.

That's right, The Heartbreak Kid and NXT will play host to The Voice of the Voiceless tonight. While it is not yet known what he will be doing, anticipation and excitement are through the roof. After all, whether he's on the main roster or on the developmental brand, Punk is a fan favorite.
