A fruitless temptation; A tenuous friendship - 3 Current WWE angles that need to end immediately
Over the last few years, storylines, including The Bloodline and Judgment Day, have dominated WWE. Bayley's relationship with Damage CTRL was also a recent highlight.
The animosity between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre endured through promos until Punk was medically cleared to compete. The injury hiatus was a blessing in disguise as it allowed the angle to breathe and get even more personal.
While some angles sustained for several months, others have a noticeable shelf life. The next three WWE storylines need to end immediately.
#3. A-Town Down Under is still a WWE tag team
Grayson Waller and Austin Theory won the WWE Tag Team titles at WrestleMania 40 in April. The titles have changed hands twice since that time. During the latter half of their championship reign, Waller kept putting Theory in danger's path.
In interactions with DIY, he ate several knees and kicks and was sacrificed to a rampaging Jacob Fatu. Throughout it all, Theory has remained by Waller's side despite the obvious betrayals.
It paints the former United States Champion as unintelligent, but he talked Nick Aldis into putting Waller into a match against Kevin Owens on the next SmackDown.
Is this his way of getting back at his friend? Bookers could be holding off for a featured singles bout at Bad Blood, but that's still two months away.
#2. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill's current place on SmackDown
The pairing of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair is good for them but not as much for the rest of the women's division. The Storm and The EST want to regain the tag team titles, but their booking diminishes the rest of the division.
To build up to eventual title matches, the super faces squash the opposition, as Cargill did to Alba Fyre on SmackDown. WWE obviously wants to keep the two powerhouses engaged in angles on TV, but the end game is a feud between them.
Being in a tag team has protected Jade Cargill a bit but they've already won tag team gold. If they were supposed to be the team that steadied the division, they shouldn't have lost the titles after a few weeks.
Their characters are also better suited for heels due to their overconfidence and their disregard for opponents even having a chance against them.
#1. Karrion Kross' attempts to break up the New Day
Once the WWE Draft concluded in early May, Karrion Kross focused on trying to break up The New Day. He's targeted Xavier Woods since he's the only member of the popular trio who hasn't won singles gold.
The two sides have endured 50-50 bookings, with each side getting an advantage. The New Day has been together for a decade, and it's supposedly a New Era in WWE.
What better way to prove that than for Kofi Kingston or Woods to turn on the other? It would help the Final Testament and add a different dynamic to a stale act.
The New Day is family-friendly and popular, but something needs to change. They can't keep trading wins and losses each week and expect fans to care. The addition of Odyssey Jones only means the angle and tension will continue.
