A new face could dominate WWE RAW with Seth Rollins working a reduced schedule
Looking at the WWE RAW roster, there are a handful of superstars that could take the top spot. While Cody Rhodes is arguably the biggest babyface in the red brand, Seth "Freakin" Rollins is not too far behind. The Visionary experiences much love from fans who serenade him with his own entrance theme.
Also, with Night of Champions fast approaching, a large portion of the WWE Universe expects The Architect of The Shield to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Only, he may not.
Seth Rollins retained the Universal Championship against AJ Styles in 2019 at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, and both stars are at a point in their careers where another world title run is warranted. Styles could easily walk out of the Jeddah Super Dome with the Big Gold Belt on his shoulder.
It was recently reported by The Direct that Seth Rollins will miss some major events owing to his undisclosed new "villain role" in the MCU as part of the 2024 blockbuster Captain America: New World Order.
This not only puts the victor of the main event of Night of Champions in question but also brings up another important one: Will another superstar take Seth Rollins' spot as the top guy on Monday Night RAW?
WWE has many options, including Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, or even Drew McIntyre, whose impending return could disrupt the company's landscape. Despite being drafted to the red brand, The Scotsman has not resurfaced on WWE TV since his five-star match at WrestleMania 39.
Meanwhile, Gunther is internally viewed as the top heel going forward, and as seen last week, The Ring General is already being placed in multiple storylines. The Intercontinental Champion is likely to dominate in the coming months.
There are even early rumors of the Austrian star being "earmarked" for a Royal Rumble win next year.
Will Seth Rollins' potential absence be a blessing in disguise for another WWE Superstar? Perhaps this Saturday night's main event will give us an idea of things to come, when Styles and Rollins battle for the biggest prize of the company.
Gunther's Intercontinental Championship is the target for 26-year-old WWE star
Dominik Mysterio recently brought up the possibility of stealing Gunther's title in a multi-man match, as the Judgment Day star is unsure if he could take The Ring General one-on-one:
"Even Gunther, man I don’t know if I’d take him one-on-one. But if we can get a triple threat match going, somewhere I can sneak in a victory maybe I don’t know. Who knows what the future has in store for Ex-con Dom."
Meanwhile, his fellow stablemate also reacted to a potential bout against Gunther. You can read more here.
Two days ago, at a live event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, The OC defeated Imperium in six-man tag action.
Will AJ Styles become the new World Heavyweight Champion this Saturday and move back to Monday nights? We will find out in less than a week's time.
