AEW Dynamite and NXT Taking Christmas Day off
As Christmas Day rolls around, it looks like both AEW and NXT will be taking a day off from the Wednesday Night Wars on December 25th. According to 411 Mania, AEW and NXT will be taking December 25th off. In fact, NXT also does not have a show for New Year's Day as well.
On the other hand, AEW does have a show scheduled for New Year's Day in Jacksonville, Florida. After December 18th, NXT's next show will be on January 8th. This is the same night that the NXT Year-End Awards could be announced. There is a possibility that TNT and USA could air year-end specials, but this has not been confirmed.
In the mean time, AEW Dynamite has again taken the lead in the ratings war after losing for two consecutive weeks. Dynamite finished with 851,000 viewers, while NXT was not far behind with 845,000 viewers.
It should be noted that December 18th will have the wrestling world watching again as both shows have big matches planned on the date. Chris Jericho will be taking on Jungle Boy in the main event on AEW Dynamite while Shayna Baszley will be defending the NXT Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley on NXT.
