AEW Fyter Fest: 5 potential finishes for Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela

Who will win this hardcore encounter in Dayton Beach?

Does anyone really believe Jon Moxley will lose in his AEW debut?

It truly seems like Joey Janela is a very small speed bump on the way to much bigger things for Moxley. Joey Janela has made quite a career of hardcore wrestling in promotions like CZW. His “Bad Boy” persona seems like quite the natural fit for the non-sanctioned match stipulation. It also does adds quite an element of unpredictably to this entire match at AEW Fyter Fest.

So what can truly happen on Saturday? While fans might have a hard time believing in a Moxley loss, there are a variety of possible outcomes to this grudge match in All Elite Wrestling’s second ever show. As we look forward to one of the main events of Fyter Fest, I present my list of top five potential finishes for Jon Moxley versus Joey Janela.

#5 Jon Moxley Wins Clean

It seems logical for the pro wrestling hottest star to win his first AEW match, right?

We might as well start with the most likely of possible options.

It just doesn’t seem logical to have Moxley lose in his AEW wrestling debut. He is arguably one of the biggest stars in the company, and he attacked both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega at the end of AEW’s Double or Nothing. He is now the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion and is about to compete in the prestigious G1 Climax tournament starting in July. That doesn’t scream a guy that should lose his first All Elite Wrestling match right?

I assume that Joey Janela is Moxley’s first opponent because of their shared hardcore wrestling roots. The non-sanctioned stipulation will allow for a brawling and bloody match. But when it is all said and done, it does make sense for Moxley to pick up the clean win and move on to some bigger matches this summer.
