What's the story?

AEW posted an image on their official Instagram account revealing their brand new merch that may or may not be about Triple H.

In case you didn't know...

As part of the entrance at AEW's first ever pay-per-view, Cody Rhodes destroyed a King's throne with a sledgehammer, clearly taking a shot at his former boss, Triple H. Even though Cody had denied the rumors about it and had played it off as there being something more behind it, fans are convinced that it has something to do with WWE. AEW has been very clear that they want to challenge WWE as the leader of the wrestling industry and wants to provide an alternative to the audience.

On a conference call with several reporters last week, Triple H took a question about AEW calling WWE out but didn't actually answer it.

The Heart of the Matter...

AEW released merchandise of several wrestlers including Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho. But, what caught the attention of many was the merch of Cody Rhodes in which we can see a picture of him destroying the King's throne as he did at Double or Nothing pay-per-view. The tee even had him calling 'Throne Destroyer'.

The t-shirt has already caught the attention of many so it seems that AEW is not going to shy away from going into a war with Raw and Smackdown once their TV deal kicks in at the end of the year.

What's Next?

AEW has already announced their three upcoming pay-per-views, one of which will go head to head with NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff on August 31. It will be interesting to see which one will come on top.

WWE, on the other hand, is hosting a show in Saudi Arabia this Friday in which Triple H has a match against Randy Orton. He might fancy taking a jab on AEW in his own way.
