AEW News: Jon Moxley shocks crowd after AEW Double or Nothing goes off air
What's the story?
AEW's Double or Nothing ended in quite a shocking way as former WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose, now known as Jon Moxley, appeared after the main event, attacking Chris Jericho and then Kenny Omega, whom he brutalised.
But after Double or Nothing went off the air, there were more things that happened.
In case you didn't know...
The main event was the match between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, a rematch of their Wrestle Kingdom 12 match back in NJPW.
Jericho won this match at Double or Nothing and cut a promo, telling the fans and the AEW management to thank him for making the show happen and for AEW getting a TV deal, to list a few things.
But following that, Moxley made his way through the crowd, and then attacked Jericho, Omega, and the referee. Moxley then landed a Dirty Deeds on Omega on the Double or Nothing stage and then the FU, ending the show on a great note. Moxley was without a contract after he ran down his WWE contract which expired last month.
The heart of the matter
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet brought us some footage of what happened after AEW went off the air. Moxley, who was still standing on top of the Double or Nothing logo, showed the middle finger to the fans, and then said something into the camera, which wasn't aired.
Omega then, with the other management of AEW - Cody and Brandi Rhodes, and the Young Bucks, said he was proud of everyone. He did not thank Jericho, like Jericho wanted him to, but thanked Moxley as he "raised the stakes".
Cody then told the fans that they will never let the fans down and then Omega said good night to the fans in his trademark way.
What's next?
AEW's next show is Fyter Fest on June 29, 2019.
