AEW/WWE News: Kenny Omega opens up about controversial NXT comments, talks Dominick Dijakovic
On the latest episode of Being The Elite, Kenny Omega cut a scathing promo and addressed his recent controversial comments made towards WWE NXT.
During the episode, the All Elite Wrestling EVP also went off on NXT star Dominick Dijakovic, after the latter recently called out the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion on Twitter with a comparison of their respective 2017 Pro Wrestling Guerrilla matches.
Kenny Omega's comments on NXT
All Elite Wrestling Superstar Kenny Omega recently spoke with Sportskeeda and during the interview, the former New Japan sensation took jabs at WWE NXT and their Superstars, labeling them as a 'developmental brand.'
Omega also added that if he and the NXT Superstars were on the same card, they would either be competing in the opening match of the night or would end up competing in the dark matches.
"And yet, when I sit back and look at the grand picture, I'm going to war with these dudes that, if we were on the same show together, the same promotion...let's pretend there were no borders. Let's pretend there were no promotions. Let's just pretend there's just one big promotion. If these guys were in the same show as me, they'd be in the dark match. They'd be in the opening match of my main event match."
Omega apologizes to fans for his comments, goes off on Dominick Dijakovic
In the closing segment of this week's BTE episode, Kenny Omega sent an apology to all the fans he angered following his recent in-character comments toward WWE NXT. After the apology, the cameras continued filming and Omega is seen telling those in the room that he thinks the fans will buy his apology.
The former Bullet Club leader then turned his attention toward Dominick Dijakovic, calling him a "tall, lanky, ROH guy."
This is what Omega had to say about Dijakovic:
“I’ll tell you one guy, and I’ll give him a little bit of credit. It is … he’s some sort of ROH guy. Tall, lanky guy. Donovan. His name starts with a D … I don’t even know what it is.”
Omega further commented on those who were angry over his lack of sympathy toward Jon Moxley, after the latter suffered an injury and had to cancel his previously scheduled match against Omega.
