All the WWE titles that won't be defended at Bash in Berlin

Bash in Berlin is less than 24 hours away. The historic premium live event is expected to deliver all the goods. If the latest episode of SmackDown and the Bash in Berlin Kickoff show were any indication, German fans would be loud and the stars would create history.

As for the card, the PLE is loaded. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will defend his title against Randy Orton. Allies will go to war for the Undisputed WWE Championship as Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens battle it out.

Moreover, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will compete against The Unholy Union, consisting of Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

However, in the Triple H regime, WWE PLEs have moved towards a quality-over-quantity approach. Hence, only a handful of title matches are booked for shows, which leaves out brewing programs and deserving talent.

On that note, let's take a quick look at all the WWE titles that won't be defended at Bash in Berlin 2024.

#6. The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are not advertised to compete

The Judgment Day imploded at SummerSlam 2024. Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea Ripley to side with Liv Morgan while Finn Balor did the same to Damian Priest. This caused an internal split and The Terror Twins were kicked out of the fearsome faction.

While Mami and The Archer of Infamy will battle Dirty Dom and Liv in a highly anticipated Mixed Tag Team Match, Balor and JD McDonagh are yet again left off the card. Due to their exclusion, the World Tag Team Championship will not be defended at Bash in Berlin 2024.

From a storyline standpoint, this is logical because the champions have become side characters in the storyline between The Terror Twins and Dominik & Morgan. Consequently, they have not received much attention.

However, Balor and McDonagh will likely interfere in the Mixed Tag Team Match and cause problems for The Terror Twins.

#5. The Bloodline is not booked for Bash in Berlin 2024

At SummerSlam 2024, Solo Sikoa lost to Cody Rhodes after Roman Reigns made his blockbuster return at the event. This massive defeat came after The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga had won the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Sikoa failed to bring "all the gold" to The Bloodline. Roman Reigns was back to assume his status as The Head of the Table, but Sikoa and his allies, especially Fatu, put The Original Tribal Chief out of commission.

Due to Reigns' part-time status, he was not booked for Bash in Berlin. Therefore, Triple H could not book The Street Champ for the PLE. However, The Game did not give much priority to Fatu and Tonga.

The Bloodline is embroiled in a feud with the Street Profits and DIY. WWE should have considered adding a Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the tag team gold at Bash in Berlin 2024.

#4. Liv Morgan is not putting her Women's World Championship on the line

We alluded to the Mixed Tag Team Match between The Terror Twins and the controversial duo of Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan at Bash in Berlin 2024. However, the Women's World Championship will not be on the line at the event.

In WWE's defense, the Women's World Championship matches should be one-on-one encounters. Triple H could be saving it for the Morgan-Ripley feud for Bad Blood 2024, where they could fight for the title under a hardcore stipulation.

The Mixed Tag Team Match was an immediate priority and WWE is holding off on the potential Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest match. Therefore, none of the champions involved in The Judgment Day implosion angle are defending their titles at Bash in Berlin 2024.

#3. Nia Jax's WWE Women's Championship

After winning the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament, Nia Jax challenged and defeated Bayley to become the new WWE Women's Champion at SummerSlam 2024.

Michin was the first to step up to Jax, and the two rivals collided in a hellacious Street Fight on the latest episode of SmackDown in Berlin. This could have been moved to Bash in Berlin, but WWE preferred a high-profile title match to draw viewership for the weekly show.

To the Stamford-based promotion's credit, they should be appreciated for exploring and teasing the dissolution of the Tiffany Stratton-Nia Jax partnership. Additionally, the threat of Bayley also looms in the background. Triple H is taking his time to build something spectacular for the women's division on SmackDown.

#2. The Intercontinental Championship

Bron Breakker overcame the challenge of Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 2024. In their well-received two-out-of-three Falls rematch, the former NXT Champion prevailed to end their feud.

WWE recently began a tournament to determine Breakker's next challenger on RAW. However, since the bracket is still developing, there was not enough time to book an Intercontinental Championship match at Bash in Berlin 2024.

If the Stamford-based company had started the tournament a week prior, fans could have had the chance to witness an Intercontinental Championship clash at the PLE.

#1. The United States Championship

LA Knight finally won the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2024 when he dethroned Logan Paul. As a full-time star, The Megastar promised to be a fighting champion, hoping to add prestige to the mid-card championship.

The 41-year-old star stayed true to his promise as he issued an open challenge on SmackDown in Berlin. Ludwig Kaiser answered the call, much to the delight of the German crowd, but failed to win the United States Championship.

Considering Kaiser's heritage, putting him on the card for Bash in Berlin 2024 in a United States Championship bout would have been a good decision. However, he could have a role to play in Gunther's match against Randy Orton at the PLE.
