Another detailed report for last night's WWE live event in Greensboro: John Cena, Tyler Breeze, more
Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Prince Cody (Heel Kofi) for sending this report for last night's WWE live event in Greensboro:
* Show starts with a welcome video from HHH followed by video theme. Eden is announcing and says we have a divas match and a steal cage match on tap for tonight.
* King Barrett comes out and says he's our King and tells everyone to get on one knee and bow down to our King. He gets a lot of boos for this. He asks if we want to see him get beat down (a resounding yes) to which he responds "I'm afraid I've got some bad news". He then set up an open challenge. Neville responds to the challenge. Really good back and forth match with lots of near falls. Neville wins with the red arrow. HUGE reception for Neville throughout. Neville celebrates before being attacked by Kane. Kane announces Rusev's injury and says we were promised a cage match and we'll get one, with him.
* There's a Tyler Breeze video followed by Tyler Breeze and Summer Rae coming out, selfie stick included. A lot of heat for both (I don't think they know she's from NC). Sandow comes out next to a pretty good reception. Ok match, then Heath Slater comes out. Breeze and Slater beat down Sandow til "Axelmania" makes the save. Huge pop for Axel but died down slightly after people realized it wasn't Hulk. Eden announced it would now be a 2 on 1 match. Ok match again til breeze and slater take control again which brings out Macho Mandow to help clear the ring.
* Conor the crusher video plays followed by Eden announcing the bracelets are on sale here.
* Out next is New Day (Big E says Greenville instead of Greensboro). They come out to loud boos. They put over the Elimination Chamber PPV and say that they were unjustly put in that match. They say we need them to show us what champions are. They say they bobcats, panthers, etc will never be champs. They say Sunday they will sing a song no one in NC have heard in a long time followed by Kofi singing "We are the Champions"... Poorly. Tyson and Cesaro are out next. Cesaro says to shut up and Kidd puts over the Greensboro Colosseum as well as NC as a whole. Wyatt's are eliminated first, before they leave they 3D Xavier (pretty poor attempt) then Big E (TERRIBLE botch as Rowen missed cradling Big E's head and E landing flat on his face).Very good match including some comedy with Xavier and BTE playing hot potato with Harper's sheep mask. New Day wins followed by Tyson and Cesaro swinging all 3 member of New Day.
* After a brief intermission Eden says there's still a cage match but up next is a divas Match. Naomi is out first in white attire and light-bright shoes. Paige is next to a good response. Typical divas match, Paige wins with the RamPaige.
* Bo Dallas is out next too a fair amount of boos. He does his typical prematch ritual. Zack Ryder comes out next, he on the other hand is cheered nicely. Bo gets a mic and congratulates boo on his friendship with the cast of "The Entourage" and hard fought match with Cena which he came SO CLOSE to winning. He said he could've won it all had to do was Bo-lieve. Decent match won by Zack. Afterwards the ring crew comes out to set up for the cage match with Bo still in the ring. Bo throws a fit, gets up and storms off while giving a thumbs down.
* The cage comes down and out comes Kane. Moderate boos but a lot of Cameras out. Cena makes us wait. Cena finally comes out too a huge pop. Eden announces them and Kane attacks Cena before the bell. An Ok cage match with both Refs getting knocked down at one point. Kane goes to get out but Cena climbs over kicks the door closed on Kane and drops down for the win and close the show. Afterwards Cena celebrates while the crowd files out.
Notes:
- Before the show there were plenty of chants with the "New Day sucks" and claps being even louder then the "Lets go Cena/Cena sucks chants" at one point.
- Any mention or showing of Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns get big pops.
- As I noted on Twitter, very very good attendance. And crowd was pretty vocal.
