Apollo Crews on wanting to be WWE's next Complete Superstar, talks on what motivates him, more

Apollo Crews strives to become WWE’s most “Complete Superstar”

“I just want to fit right in and bring what I can to the table.” Those were the hopeful words of Apollo Crews shortly after signing his official WWE contract to join the ranks of NXT this past April.

Fast forward to a thrilling debut at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, along with an undefeated streak to match, and it would seem that Crews is doing much more than just fitting in. The NXT superstar formerly known as Uhaa Nation, recently spoke with WWE’s website. Here are some of the highlights.

On wanting to be the complete Superstar:

Crews says he wants to get all the angles and aspects covered in his quest in becoming the most “Complete Superstar”. He says often gets complimented by many that they have never seen a guy who can do what he does in the ring. He says he has no interest in doing things well, he wants everything he does to be great. He doesn’t want to settle for less, instead strives and keeps pushing for more.

“I often get told by many they’ve never seen a guy who can do what I do in the ring. I want to be to the complete package by having all angles and aspects covered. I don’t want to do all things well — I want everything I do to be great. Some people like to settle for less, I always have to strive and keep pushing for more.”

On what motivates him to strive for more:

Crews also commented on using the high expectations people have for him as continued motivation. He says he will always be indebted to the NXT fans for the love and support showered upon him and says that makes him push much harder. Talking about support from his family, the former Uhaa Nation states that his mom has watched him wrestle and was amazed by his performances. Also his kid sister, who isn’t even a fan of wrestling, watched him too. His family always lets him know of how proud they are on what he has accomplished.

“All I can do is go out there and give everything I have. My mom watched me at Takeover: Brooklyn and said she was amazed, and it was only the second time she’s seen me wrestle. My dad very frequently lets me know how proud he is, and extended family in Nigeria, that I don’t even know or have met, have also reached out and expressed how proud they are. My kid sister, who isn’t even a fan of wrestling, watched me. The NXT fans have shown me nothing but love, too. I appreciate all the support, and it makes me push that much harder.”
