Are Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins friends in real life? Exploring their off-screen relationship in WWE
Cody Rhodes has been the pride and joy of WWE in this new era. However, his journey to the top hasn't been one he's made alone. En route to becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion, The American Nightmare has had a lot of help from names like Randy Orton and Jey Uso. But the superstar who has undoubtedly helped him the most is Seth Rollins.
While The Visionary was key to Cody Rhodes' success at WrestleMania 40, the question arises: are they friends in real life? It's all fine and dandy to support each other inside the squared circle, but is their relationship the same once they set foot outside the ring? Well, Rhodes gave his answer on The Pivot Podcast, and it was an emphatic "yes."
Admitting to the fact that he spent a good part of his first run in WWE chasing Seth Rollins and The Shield, Cody Rhodes claimed he initially wasn't friends with the former World Heavyweight Champion. However, after some grueling matches, and watching his bus go up in flames from The Visionary's vehicle outside Lincoln Financial Field, he can now safely say that Rollins is "his guy."
"Even to this day, I'll still say I don't like Seth but (…) so my bus at WrestleMania catches fire outside the Lincoln Financial [Field]. Huge fireball on top of my bus, I'm certain it's going to burn down. The first bus I ran to was his. Like a little kid, I was just watching through the window as these men tried to put out a fire. He's been my guy since I came back to WWE. I love Seth," Cody Rhodes said.
It's good to know that Rhodes has a friend in Rollins. The two may not have seen eye-to-eye in the past, but now they seem to be staunch friends. Perhaps they can renew their brief partnership again sometime in the future if they ever end up being on the same brand once more.
Cody Rhodes will have some friends in his corner at Money in the Bank
Cody Rhodes will have to rely on some other friends come July 6, 2024. At Money in the Bank, The American Nightmare has a tall task ahead of him as he prepares to take on a new-look Bloodline. Led by Solo Sikoa, the group now consists of some of the most dangerous stars in WWE, like Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
Fortunately for Rhodes, he has two seasoned veterans on his side. In Toronto, Canada, Rhodes will be flanked by The Viper, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens as he attempts to do battle with The Bloodline again. It is sure to be a match worth witnessing, and one that could go either way. It all depends on who wants it more on the night.
It will be interesting to see how this second war with The Bloodline goes for Rhodes. He would do well to remember that this is a far more unhinged and unpredictable version of the group he previously tangled with. Things may not go as planned.
