ROH News: Austin Aries set to challenge for the ROH TV Title in his return match for the promotion

What’s the story?

As per confirmed by Ring of Honor recently, former WWE superstar and ROH World Champion, Austin Aries will make his official in-ring return to the promotion at this year’s ROH: War of the Worlds event.

In case you didn’t know…

Following his departure from the WWE in 2017, Aries has competed for several top Independent promotions and has seemingly earned the nickname of ‘The Belt Collector’, having won numerous championship belts with promotions such as WSW, Defiant Wrestling, IPW: UK, and Defy Wrestling.

On the other hand, Aries has also made a return to Impact Wrestling where he immediately captured the Impact World Title and the Impact Grand Championship as well, making him a double champion in the process and a sextuple champion overall.

In the meantime, Aries also made his debut for ROH at Supercard of Honor XII and challenged then-ROH TV Champion Kenny King to a title match.

The heart of the matter

Being a former two-time ROH World Champion, Aries is definitely considered as one of the most prolific competitors to have ever wrestled for Ring of Honor and as per confirmed by ROH.

The 40-year-old Milwaukee native is now slated to make his official in-ring return later this month at ROH: War of the Worlds when he challenges for the ROH Television Championship.

Aries, who is currently in possession of five different title belts, will look to add the ROH TV Title to his collection of championship belts when he squares off in a one-on-one match against current champion Silas Young, who is currently fresh off a successful defence against Flip Gordon.

Aries will challenge Silas Young for the ROH TV Title on the 13th of May in Chicago, Illinois at The Odeum.

Young vs Aries promises to be a hard-hitting and athletic match as well, both Aries and Young are tremendous athletes and there is no doubt that both men will definitely put up a great one-on-one match.
