Babyface turn, new Damage CTRL member, and more - 4 possible directions for IYO SKY following her major loss on WWE RAW

WWE Monday Night RAW took place last night in front of around 10,000 fans for a show that will be fondly remembered for a few big-time bouts. The show featured the RAW side of the semi-finals for the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

On the King of the Ring end of things, Gunther defeated Jey Uso in the main event. The two superstars delivered a great match, but The Ring General couldn't be stopped. This was the expected finish for most fans, but the other semi-final match shocked the world.

IYO SKY went one-on-one with Lyra Valkyria in the semi-final of the Queen of the Ring tournament. After around 20 minutes, Lyra shocked IYO and fans by pinning The Genius of The Sky in the center of the ring.

Given that IYO was a favorite to win the entire tournament, it is a big surprise that she is now eliminated. Naturally, fans are curious about the immediate future of the former WWE Women's Champion.

Below are four possible directions for IYO SKY following her major loss on WWE RAW:

#4. She could turn babyface

IYO SKY first joined WWE's main roster at SummerSlam in 2022. Since then, the former WWE Women's Champion has been a heel.

Despite being a villain for so long, IYO gets overwhelming cheers during her matches. She was notably cheered on by fans at Backlash in Puerto Rico last year and even had more fans behind her during her face-off with Lyra Valkyria on RAW this week.

Considering her immense popularity among fans, it may be time for the talented star to turn babyface. This could allow her to feud with heels on Monday Night RAW, such as Liv Morgan, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark.

#3. IYO SKY could feud with Lyra Valkyria

As noted, the Queen of the Ring semi-finals on the WWE RAW end of the bracket saw Lyra Valkyria defeat IYO SKY. The two clashed for around 20 minutes before Lyra picked up the victory.

Often, when two performers put on a great fight, the winner and loser graciously shake hands or show some level of respect. This was not the case on this week's RAW, as IYO SKY had an emotional outburst towards Lyra Valkyria and Jackie Redmond before she headed out of the ring.

This little outburst could lead to a full-blown feud between the Damage CTRL member and former NXT Women's Champion on the red brand this summer.

#2. She could challenge Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship

Becky Lynch is one of the biggest female superstars in modern WWE history. The Man has headlined and won in the main event of WrestleMania and has also held virtually every title a female superstar can hold in the company.

The Irish star will defend her prized Women's World Championship against Liv Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia this Saturday.

Supposing that Big Time Becks retains her coveted belt over Liv in Saudi Arabia, the 37-year-old will need a new opponent. It would make sense for The Genius of The Sky to be her next challenger. Both are extremely talented and could put on something special together.

#1. IYO could recruit Sonya Deville following her WWE return

Sonya Deville is a former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion who had rotten luck last year. A few months after WrestleMania 39, she and Chelsea Green won the coveted titles, only for Sonya to be consigned to the bench due to an injury.

However, things took an interesting turn on Monday Night RAW last night, as Deville showed up backstage and seemingly attempted to form a stable with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

The dangerous duo seemingly passed on Deville's offer, but that doesn't mean she can't end up in a stable. IYO SKY could recruit Sonya to join Damage CTRL. With Bayley gone and Asuka injured, SKY could rope in Deville to reinforce the heel faction.
