Batista opens up about movies and his next Bond film

Batista as Drax the Destroyer

– Batista has had a brilliant career inside the squared circle. He is one of the most popular WWE stars in the last decade or so. The former Heavyweight champion has taken on a different path in his career and transitioned from wrestling to movies.

The WWE Superstar who is still contracted to the company played a major role in the Marvel Film, Guardians of the Galaxy. He is also scheduled to appear in the next James Bond film, Sceptre. Batista spoke with the LatinPost.com while promoting 007:Spectre.

He spoke about movies in general and the latest movie where he plays the villain Mr. Hinx. Here is the link for the full interview.

On his role in the James Bond movie

Batista said that he feared that he was going to be cast as the muscle head in the movie. He asked the director is that was the case, but was promptly told that even though he plays the role of a henchman he definitely is an intelligent one with a lot of muscles. He described his character as a bad*** with brains.

"Those were my two concerns because I didn’t want to be categorized as a subservient henchman. I wanted to be a man on a mission doing his own thing. And that’s what Mr. Hinx is."

The most exciting scene in the film

Batista stated that the car chase scene which was shot in Rome was the most exciting scene he has done. He added that the authorities shut down the whole city and they were driving some exotic cars through the city which made him feel like he was really in a Bond movie.

Working on big projects

Batista said that it does not matter to him if he is working for a big name. What matters to him are the characters that he is playing. He said that he would gladly accept any character which he find is of superior quality. He also stated that the only difference is that the big budget films are extremely organized.

"I noticed that conditions are better on bigger budget films, but I don’t mind roughing it once in a while if the quality of the material is there. I can get used to some disorganized stuff. I was with WWE and everything was always disorganized there."

On his transition from a pro wrestler to an actor

Batista when asked if the transition was a tough one, he answered positively. He said that it was a tough transition and he felt that he was a bad actor until Guardians of Galaxy released. He said that the first movie he did was with the WWE which left him embarrassed.

"It pissed me off because I left feeling embarrassed. It made me want to prove myself and get better so I could get a second chance. And there you go."
