Becky Lynch to retire, Seth Rollins to return, & more - 4 reasons why Liv Morgan was victorious on WWE RAW

Becky Lynch locked horns with Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage Match for the WWE Women's World Title in the main event of Monday Night RAW last night. However, despite her best efforts, Morgan managed to escape with a win, thanks to yet another interference from Dominik Mysterio.

After the match, Liv Morgan made it clear that she was thankful for Dominik Mysterio's help, but what does this loss mean for The Man?

The following list will look at four possible reasons behind Becky Lynch's defeat in the main event match last night on RAW:

#4. There will be a rematch at SummerSlam that will ensure no interference

Liv Morgan won the Women's World Championship in Saudi Arabia last weekend in the opening match of the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event. However, later that night, Becky Lynch invoked her re-match clause.

Later, General Manager Adam Pearce announced a Steel Cage Match for the Women's World Title to ensure no outside shenanigans. However, unfortunately for Becky Lynch, that didn't prove to be the case, as Dirty Dom once again made his presence felt.

The latest defeat allows Lynch to move forward to a new feud, or if she is taking some time away, it would make sense for her to come back in a few months and push for a legitimate rematch.

#3. Lynch is finally getting a well-deserved break!

Becky Lynch was supposed to take a break from WWE TV following WrestleMania XL. However, Rhea Ripley's injury meant she was forced to return early and win the vacant Women's World Championship.

Now that she has dropped the title to Liv Morgan, The Man can embark on a well-deserved break with Seth Rollins, who is celebrating his 38th birthday today. Rollins underwent knee surgery following The Show of Shows last month and was retained by RAW during the WWE Draft. However, he is expected to be on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

#2. This could lead to Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch have made it clear in the past that they didn't like working together on-screen, but there could be a good reason for them to reunite after the recent events on RAW. With Dirty Dom costing Lynch the Women's World Title twice within three days, it could be time for The Visionary to step in and teach him a lesson.

Both Rollins and Dominik are injured at the moment. Hence, this feud could become a reality in a few months when all four parties are healthy and prepared to pick up where they left off.

#1. Becky Lynch wants to retire and has yet to sign a new deal

Reportedly, The Man has yet to sign a new deal with the Stamford-based promotion, and her current contract expires on June 1, 2024.

Lynch has accomplished everything in WWE. From headlining WrestleMania to appearing on the cover of WWE 2K, the Irish star has accomplished it all, and it could finally be time for her to step aside and allow the women coming through the ranks to step up and take the spotlight.
