Becky Lynch to return, Roman Reigns to appear with backup? - 4 surprises for WWE SmackDown this week

WWE is on a roll and next week will be massive. A special edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be airing on the FOX Network tonight. This show is special because it will be the final episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. After tonight's show, the program will be moving to the USA Network.

There are several segments and matches announced for tonight's edition of SmackDown. Giovanni Vinci will return, Cody Rhodes will have a discussion with Solo Sikoa, and The Bloodline has a massive Eight-Man Tag Team Match scheduled. In addition to that, another tag team bout is announced, plus Tiffany Stratton and the beloved Bayley will clash.

With that being said, Nick Aldis may have some big surprises in store for this special edition of the blue brand. This article will take a look at a handful of major things that could happen tonight, which would only build more hype for the show's return to USA Network next week.

Below are four surprises for WWE SmackDown this week.

#4. Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso could return together

Roman Reigns returned to WWE television after SummerSlam. He had taken a break following WrestleMania but returned to try to take out Solo Sikoa and his version of The Bloodline. He was successful at first, but ultimately the number's game caught up to The OTC.

Jimmy Uso was a victim of this version of The Bloodline too. He was brutally assaulted by Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga on the SmackDown after WrestleMania and he hasn't been seen in World Wrestling Entertainment since then.

In what would be an epic surprise, both Roman and Jimmy could return on Friday Night SmackDown. The two cousins could cost The Bloodline their match against DIY and The Street Profits while also kicking off the program for a Bloodline Civil War.

#3. Ludwig Kaiser could interrupt Giovanni Vinci's big return

WWE Friday Night SmackDown will see the return of a former NXT Tag Team Champion. Giovanni Vinci is set to make a comeback after being kicked out of The Imperium.

Giovanni Vinci was a member of The Imperium alongside Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther. In a move that shocked WWE fans, Kaiser brutally assaulted Vinci and Gunther approved of the behavior. This meant Giovanni was out of Imperium. Now, though, he'll be making his return.

In what could be a shocking moment, Monday Night RAW's Ludwig Kaiser could potentially cost Giovanni Vinci a win in his return match. Ludwig could be bitter that Giovanni is even showing his face again and thus pummel the Italian star. This could eventually lead to the two having a major cross-brand match.

#2. The Motor City Machine Guns could debut

The Motor City Machine Guns could potentially appear on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The former TNA Wrestling Tag Team Champions could show up and confront a top duo on the brand.

For those unaware, The Motor City Machine Guns is made up of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. The veteran stars left TNA Wrestling earlier this year. Most expected for the two to be AEW-bound, but reports indicate that they passed up a deal with the company to join WWE.

If they are indeed joining the Sports Entertainment juggernaut, a surprise appearance on SmackDown would get fans talking. The company could then promote their first promo or even their debut match for the blue brand's return to USA Network next week.

#1. Becky Lynch could finally return to WWE

Becky Lynch is arguably the greatest female performer in WWE history. Not only did she become a massive star, but she has a catalog of great matches and major title wins that very few come close to.

Unfortunately, The Man hasn't been seen on WWE television for quite some time. She lost the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan and then lost a rematch set inside of a steel cage. After that, Becky walked away and hasn't returned to the promotion yet.

Still, a return of Big Time Becks feels inevitable. Her husband works for the promotion and wrestling is part of her identity. Most assume she'll be part of the RAW roster when she returns, but a fun twist could be for The Man to instead return on SmackDown. She could challenge her old foe Nia Jax renew hostilities with Tiffany Stratton, or even start a fight with Michin.
