Becky Lynch: One of SmackDown Live and the Horsewomen's most underrated?

C
Charlotte Flair's move to SmackDown in 2017 hasn't done Becky Lynch any favours

One of the Four Horsewomen of the WWE, Becky Lynch has come a long way in her career. From being one of the brightest and talented female prospects in NXT to being one of the most beloved superstars in the entire main roster, Becky Balboa has taken the entire women's division by storm ever since she step foot in a WWE ring.

Therefore, it pains fans to see where she is today. In spite of being a great worker, she is the only Horsewomen to not have held the NXT Women's championship during her run in WWE's development territory despite having classic matches against Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte Flair.

She was called up to the main roster as part of team PCB alongside Charlotte and Paige where she was reduced to an afterthought in spite of the crowd reactions she received. Becky started to pick up momentum when she had a feud with Charlotte leading to WrestleMania. Who can forget the historic triple threat match between her, Charlotte and Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 32 that blew the roof off the AT&T Stadium.

After staying low profile for a while, things started to look good for her when she was drafted to Smackdown Live as their first female draft pick and ended up becoming the inaugural Smackdown Women's Champion.

After losing the title to Alexa Bliss at TLC, the only notable singles feud Lynch has been a part of is against Mickie James and that was over a year ago. She has been constantly been in and out of TV for the past few months. She has mostly been part of multi-women matches or tag matches.

While her other horsewomen have been scaling new heights and breaking barriers on the way to making history in women's wrestling, Becky has been sidelined to an extent that she fails to even find herself in a singles feud even when the women roster is the deepest in the company's history.

Whilst people like Lana get multiple title shots despite their limited in-ring skills, Becky hasn't even had a shot at the women's title for almost a year and it seems like she will be relegated to the pre-show of WrestleMania this year, where will be part of the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royale.

I sincerely hope that WWE gives this fan favourite an opportunity to shine post-WrestleMania and here's hoping that the Irish Lass Kicker will once again rule the women's division like she did after the Brand split.
