Best and worst of RAW: 16th October, 2017
This week of RAW, live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, was uncharacteristically entertaining for a go-home show. It wasn't the best episode of RAW, but overall, it had far more entertaining moments than not-so-entertaining ones.
It is clear that The Shield will dominate the central storyline of this brand, going forward. In the absence of Lesnar and Cena, the trio has been a huge draw for the brand, and in many ways, maybe the only draw for brand RAW. Only time will tell how long their run will last.
However, that topic deserves its own article and we shall not dwell on it any further than we need to. Let's get to the task at hand for right now.
Here is the 'Best and Worst of RAW.
#1 Best: The gear and the entrance
At the top of RAW, we saw Kurt Angle enter the arena and address the WWE Universe. He was interrupted by a familiar theme song, as The Shield made their way through the crowd, like they had in their heydey.
They were clothed in the garb that one associates them with, as opposed to the t-shirts they were wearing, just a week ago. They also surrounded the ring like predators, babyfaces surveying the landscape for prey.
These little touches made the reunion of the Shield feel a lot more special than the action that we'd seen in the week prior. It is one thing to put a trio together and another thing entirely to bring back a gimmick and make the trio revive it to the fullest.
However, RAW wasn't a perfect show all throughout.
