Best and worst of RAW: 18th September, 2017

This week of RAW felt like three hours of filler!
This week of RAW felt like three hours of filler!

This week of RAW came to us from the SAP Center in San Jose, California and truth be told, it was a real disappointment. Having built up No Mercy as a must-see event with a great card, the episode just felt rather underwhelming.

If we were to glance across the three hours, there was little to get us excited for the show this weekend. If anything, this week's episode took away from all the momentum that had been built up over the past few weeks.

Expect the ratings to drop significantly this week, when they do emerge. If it was not enough that RAW was up against Monday Night Football, their substandard booking certainly did them no favors. Presenting the best and (mostly) worst of RAW.

#1 Worst: Nonstop barrage of video packages

Very little was offered in the way of new content!

John Cena wasn't in the building this week, and neither was Brock Lesnar. WWE used their absence to play video packages to hype up the two big matches for No Mercy, and in doing so, bored their viewers and how! As slick and well-made as WWE video packages generally are, they just felt long and neverending.

WWE seemed so short on ideas and content this week, that they even showed a nostalgia video package about WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. Another followed with Jennifer Lopez and Hispanic Heritage Month. The essential charm of RAW is that it is a live show, and the video packages just took away from this.
