Best and Worst of WWE RAW (4th March 2019): Shield reunite, unexpected heel turn
Our regular Best and Worst columnist, Riju Dasgupta, is out and about with the WWE Superstars in India, getting you some major scoops, so I'll be subbing in for him for RAW's Best and Worst!
I'll have to admit, the WWE RAW show this week didn't live up to expectations, and was a damp squib for a go-home show of a PPV. But, perhaps, I expected a show like last week where there were a lot of surprises, which can't be done every week.
Fastlane, the final PPV before WrestleMania 35, will air this week, and on RAW, we had WWE teasing feuds that will set up matches for WrestleMania, as well as Fastlane.
So, let's take a look at the Best and Worst of this week's WWE RAW:
#1 Best: The Shield
Roman Reigns once again kicked off RAW this week, following last week's happy announcement about his cancer being in remission. This week, Reigns brought out Seth Rollins, and asked him if he wanted to bring The Shield back together.
The Architect was apprehensive at first, but then agreed to Reigns' idea, but their plans were thwarted when Ambrose was attacked with a guitar by Elias. The two were then seen backstage, speaking to Ambrose (who was lurking in the backstage areas) and trying to convince him about the idea.
Later in the night, Ambrose faced Elias in a singles match, and after the latter prevailed over Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns once again returned to the ring to try to convince Ambrose, who walked away through the crowd.
McIntyre, Lashley, and Corbin attacked Rollins and Reigns, which was the perfect set-up for Ambrose to return to this time save his Shield buddies, and reform the group.
Although it was expected, this made for great television as the trio are still much-loved as a group. The Shield will face off against McIntyre, Lashley, and Corbin in a tag team match at this week's Fastlane PPV, which will probably be the last PPV that they team together before Ambrose leaves WWE in April.
