Big clue pointing to The Rock's return, major Bash in Berlin warning? - 4 things Kevin Owens could have subtly told Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown

WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired last night on the FOX Network. While the show typically airs live, this edition of the popular weekly series was pre-taped. This is due to the episode taking place in Berlin, Germany, which means the event was held earlier in the day.

The show featured numerous big matches and segments, including a Street Fight. While much of the show was quite interesting, the main talking point coming out of SmackDown was courtesy of an in-ring segment between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes.

Things got heated between the two friends, but what happened at the end is what has garnered the most buzz. Kevin Owens dropped the microphone, whispered something into Rhodes' ear, and then walked away.

Naturally, everybody is curious about what Owens said to Rhodes. This article will take a look at a handful of things Kevin could have subtly told The American Nightmare ahead of their bout at Bash in Berlin.

Below are four things Kevin Owens could have subtly told Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown.

#4. He could've told Cody Rhodes that he's going after his bad knee at WWE Bash in Berlin

WWE Bash in Berlin is where the two men will clash and the event is set to take place later today. The American Nightmare was the one who asked for the match to happen, wanting to reward his friend for always helping him out.

Owens initially didn't want the match and even seemed to be against it on SmackDown. This time, however, it wasn't because he felt he didn't deserve it. Instead, the WWE star claimed that Cody suffered a knee injury of some kind during the European tour.

Cody denied this, but if there is legitimacy to Owens' claim, he could have told Rhodes that if they wrestle at Bash in Berlin, he's going to tear up Cody's knee. Owens can be a nice guy at times, but he can also be ruthless. If Rhodes walks into the match injured, The Prizefighter may go after it.

#3. Kevin Owens could reveal that he knows what The Rock gave Cody after WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40 by defeating Roman Reigns in what was an epic match. The next night on RAW, Cody had a confrontation with The Rock.

The People's Champion told Cody that while he was taking some time off for now, he'd be back and he's coming for Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Title. Then he mysteriously handed something to Cody before leaving.

Rhodes seemed confused and even distraught, but what he was given is yet to be revealed. Perhaps Kevin Owens knows and made it clear that he knows last night.

If this is what Kevin Owens told Cody on SmackDown, it could be setting up and teasing The Rock's return to television. The Final Boss promised to come for Cody, so Triple H having Kevin add this into their segment sets up The Rock's comeback in a big way.

#2. He could've warned The American Nightmare about a Bloodline attack

The Bloodline has been the most dominant force in WWE for quite some time, but the current iteration of the stable may be more vicious and violent than ever. The members include Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.

During the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Solo Sikoa made it clear that he wants the Undisputed WWE Title. He also said he didn't care if the champion was Cody or Kevin, he was coming for the gold.

Kevin may have found out some extra intel. He could know that The Bloodline intended to invade their match at the Premium Live Event. Owens potentially revealed that jaw-dropping information to The American Nightmare and stormed off. Can they get along if The Bloodline tries to attack?

#1. Owens could have told Cody that he won't fight him if Rhodes isn't 100%

As noted, Kevin Owens revealed that Cody Rhodes was potentially injured during the WWE European Tour leading up to SmackDown in Berlin. Cody wrestled AJ Styles in multiple matches and The Phenomenal One is known for relentless in the ring.

The Prizefighter told an interesting story related to Cody's alleged knee injury. He noted when he won the Universal Title, everybody wrote off the win and said he only had it thanks to Triple H. Kevin said this ate away at him for years and he doesn't want an asterisk when he beats Cody.

Due to this, Owens could have told The American Nightmare to get his leg checked out and that if he wasn't healthy for their match, Owens wouldn't fight. This would be stunning, as a main event match could be canceled last minute.
