Big E opens up about The New Day, Sasha Banks and more

Big E cuts a promo with the New Day

– The New Day have been one of the most entertaining and charismatic teams currently.

They have won two tag team championships within a year and currently hold the titles. Big E who is the powerhouse of the New Day had a lot to talk about while being interviewed by Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard Site. He spoke about various topics such as the success of the New Day, who he would want to add in their team, the stiffest wrestlers and more.

On being unsuccessful at the start

Before the New Day happened, Big E has been in and out of TV. He has faced a lot of ups and downs. When asked about this, Big E stated that he was obviously discouraged and felt that there wasn't a lot for him. He added that they put in a lot of hard work to reach the spot where they are right now and some of the younger guys fail to understand this. He said that perseverance is the key in this business, so you either swim towards your goals or you drown.

"You get to the point where you’re off TV and you look at the landscape around you and you’re like ‘Woah there’s not a lot for me,’ and it doesn’t turn around for a lot of guys like it has for us. We spent a lot of time working on this, and I think some younger people don’t understand how much work we put in,” said Big E.

On the success of New Day

The New Day who started very slowly, have picked up a lot of pace since a few months. They have gone from being the boring team to the most charismatic team in the business.
When asked about this Big E said all three of them were good enough to get to where they are now. They have main-evented RAW with the likes of John Cena and the Dudley Boys. He said that they have had a lot of fun since the last few months and feels that they aren't shoved down people's throats.

On Sasha Banks

When asked who he would like to add in their group, Big E instantaneously answered Sasha Banks. Banks has been seen hanging around with the New Day and Big E has had a lot of respect for her. He said that she is one of the best wrestlers he has seen and also heavily praised her Iron Man match with Bayley.

"Sasha Banks, no question. She’s probably my favorite wrestler on the planet right now. The stuff she’s done with Bayley have been tremendous, both at Takeover: Brooklyn and the Iron Man Match. We’ve got a lot of respect for her, she’s on another level.”

On stiff wrestlers

“Sheamus has a reputation for being a little stiff. I’d say Sheamus and Titus O’Neil. Titus O’Neil can mess you up! You gotta protect yourself with Titus!”
