Big name close to Cody Rhodes, former champions to be hired by Triple H? - 4 AEW stars currently rumored to sign with WWE soon
WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion on earth. The Sports Entertainment juggernaut has enjoyed unrivaled dominance since the Monday Night War in the 1990s.
Since its inception in 2019, the Tony Khan-led All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has actively tried to compete with the Stamford-based promotion. Unfortunately for AEW, they are nowhere near the size of World Wrestling Entertainment.
That means, especially as the gulf between the two seems to be increasing with every passing month, it's becoming increasingly tough for the Jacksonville-based company to retain talent.
Below are four AEW stars that Triple H could hire in the coming months:
#4. Daniel Garcia was seemingly written off television
Daniel Garcia is an immensely talented 25-year-old wrestler. Initially known strictly for his in-ring work, Garcia started showing off his charisma and unique dancing skills, which got him extremely popular with the audience. Unfortunately, Tony Khan has never really capitalized on The Dragon Slayer's popularity.
Garcia was recently involved in an odd situation. He was seemingly set to take on MJF at All In 2024. However, he was laid out by Friedman during the July 3 episode of Dynamite and was seemingly written off television. Media reports later claimed his contract will soon be expiring.
While reports indicate that Garcia is likely to stay in Jacksonville, he is apparently on WWE's radar. Hence, it's possible that the Triple H-led promotion could approach The Dragon Slayer with an irresistible offer in the coming months.
#3. Penta El Zero Miedo & #2. Rey Fenix, The Lucha Bros are reportedly WWE-bound
The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) have been a part of AEW since 2019. Penta and Rey are former AEW World Tag Team Champions. They also held the Trios Title alongside PAC.
However, recent media reports have claimed that Fenix and Penta are likely to part ways with the Jacksonville-based company once their current deal expires. The reports also claimed that Penta's deal was set to expire this month, and Fenix's contract will end in September.
According to reports, Penta and Fenix wish to skip NXT and perform on Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. It will be interesting to see if the popular duo joins the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the coming months.
#1. Ricky Starks' friends and mentors are in World Wrestling Entertainment
Ricky Starks is one of the most criminally underutilized talents in AEW history. While Stroke Daddy has had moments of greatness, the charismatic star has never been used to his potential and is often absent for months.
Starks has not featured on AEW TV since March 2024, and while Tony Khan has publicly claimed that he would love to have the Absolute star back, nothing substantial has materialized into reality.
According to Fightful Select, Starks has refused several creative ideas pitched for his return to television. Past reports have also claimed that the talented wrestler had heat with AEW backstage due to his alleged desire to go to the Triple H-led promotion.
A recent report from PWInsider claimed that the Stamford-based company was interested in acquiring Ricky Starks, which could contribute to his alleged desire to exit the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Starks certainly has a lot of friends in WWE. CM Punk, The Undertaker, and Cody Rhodes have previously served as his mentors. Additionally, he is known to be friends with Bayley and Jade Cargill.
It will be interesting to see if Stroke Daddy joins the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the coming months.
