Big Update on Sting at WWE Summerslam, Online Retailers Pulling Hogan Merchandise

WWE Summerslam not to feature Sting thus ending all speculations

- It was previously reported that Sting will be a part of the WWE Summerslam Experience in New York City, but his participation in the actual Summerslam pay-per-view event has been up in the air. Sting has been mentioned as a potential (speculated) participant in a match featuring The Wyatt Family, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. In addition, Sting’s name did come up as a possible teammate for Arrow’s star Stephen Amell, in a match against Stardust and The Miz.

A new report suggests Sting may not be used at all at Summerslam, despite being in town for the Summerslam Experience signing. PWInsider noted all of the ideas that made their way online, including the tag matches talked about, were in fact speculation as expected. They said as late as this afternoon WWE had no plans of featuring him on the card.

- As noted, WWE has been removing all references to Hulk Hogan, including pulling all merchandise from WWEShop.com as well as informing other retail partners to follow suit. In an update, several major retailers like Walmart, Target and Toys R Us have started removing Hogan merchandise from their online stores; it’s uncomfirmed but they could also remove items from the physical stores.

Since the Hogan scandal broke, WWE informed all licensees to nix any current and future Hogan projects they were working on. WWE partner Mattel also announced they will cease production of any Hogan merchandise at once:
