Bitter rival, former Bloodline member - 5 ideal opponents for Bron Breakker despite major WWE RAW announcement

WWE star Bron Breakker issued a bold warning to his next challenger tonight during RAW. The Intercontinental Champion noted that there will be a tournament beginning next week to determine his next opponent and vowed to give the winner a beating of a lifetime.

Breakker captured the title from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam. He defended the title against The Great Liberator in a 2 -out-of-3 Falls match last Monday night. Zayn referred to Breakker as "the future face of WWE" following the match.

Listed below are five ideal opponents for Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.

#5. Braun Strowman could challenge Bron Breakker for the title on WWE RAW

Braun Strowman appeared on tonight's edition of WWE RAW and confronted Bronson Reed after the big man demolished The Miz in a No-Disqualifications match. The Monster of All Monsters is a former Universal Champion and would be a legitimate threat to Bron Breakker.

Strowman could emerge victorious in the upcoming tournament to become Breakker's next challenger. A victory over Braun would be very impressive for Bron and a great way to start his reign as Intercontinental Champion.

#4. Chad Gable would be a great opponent for Bron Breakker

Chad Gable was obsessed with becoming the Intercontinental Champion earlier this year but failed to accomplish his goal. This cost him his friendship with the Alpha Academy faction, and he has now formed American Made with The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile on RAW.

Gable is a phenomenal talent in the ring and would bring out the best of Breakker. The two stars could potentially have an in-ring classic for the Intercontinental Championship if Gable became the number-one contender.

#3. Jey Uso could win the tournament

Jackie Redmond interviewed Jey Uso during tonight's edition of RAW after the tournament to determine Bron Breakker's next challenger was announced. Main Event Jey revealed that he spoke with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and will be entering the upcoming tournament.

Uso has never won a singles title in the company but has become incredibly popular with the WWE Universe since departing The Bloodline last year. The 38-year-old would be a great challenger for Breakker because the fans would be on his side. Bron Breakker could become one of the biggest heels on RAW if he brutally attacks Jey Uso in the coming weeks.

#2. Ilja Dragunov could get revenge on the Intercontinental Champion

Bron Breakker defeated Ilja Dragunov on the July 22 edition of WWE RAW to become the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. He went on to defeat Sami Zayn at SummerSlam to capture the title. Dragunov and Breakker have a history together and could reignite their rivalry for the Intercontinental Championship.

Breakker has attacked Dragunov several times on RAW this year, and the 30-year-old likely wants revenge. Ilja could win the tournament and attempt to get back on Breakker by dethroning him from the Intercontinental Championship.

#1. Sheamus could chase after the title he's never won

Sheamus has had a remarkable career in WWE so far. The veteran is currently in a rivalry with his former Brawling Brutes stablemate, Pete Dunne, and picked up a victory over The Bruiserweight tonight in a singles match. The Celtic Warrior had a tremendous rivalry against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship but could not dethrone The Ring General.

The 46-year-old has never won the Intercontinental Championship in his career. Sheamus' feud with Gunther added prestige to the latter's title reign, and WWE could employ a similar strategy by having the veteran be Bron Breakker's next challenger.
