Bobby Lashley to leave WWE and reunite with 2 top stars in AEW, another world title run? 5 directions for The All Mighty after his likely exit
Bobby Lashley returned to WWE in 2018 on the RAW after WrestleMania 34. The All Mighty had a decent run with the company this time, winning the WWE Championship twice.
However, his booking under Triple H was pretty underwhelming, which could be the reason for his possible departure from the Stamford-based promotion soon.
Bobby Lashley's contract with WWE is reportedly set to expire in a couple of weeks. The Pride leader is in great shape and will likely continue his pro wrestling career outside the company.
So without further ado, let's look at five possible directions for Bobby Lashley after his rumored WWE departure:
#5. The Hurt Business reunites in AEW
Bobby Lashley is not the only WWE star who may leave the company soon. His former ally and manager, MVP, has also been seemingly removed from the company's internal roster. This comes after the veteran expressed his frustration about Triple H not allowing the reunion of The Hurt Business.
The Hurt Business was a major stable in WWE. Hence, AEW may try to capitalize on the situation and sign both Lashley and MVP. Tony Khan could also sign Shelton Benjamin to his company. The Triple H-led promotion released the former US Champion in September 2023. He is still a free agent.
If the trio ends up in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Tony Khan will have to use a different name for them because WWE likely owns the rights to the name, The Hurt Business.
#4. A return to Bellator
Bobby Lashley has a pretty good record in MMA. The All Mighty won 15 fights and only lost two. The former WWE Champion's last fight in Bellator was in 2016, where he defeated Josh Appelt in round two.
Although it is unlikely that he will return to Bellator, there is a small chance that it could happen because of Lashley's love for combat sports. He even hinted at returning to the world of MMA a few years ago.
#3. Debut at Bloodsport
Bloodsport has featured many top names in the pro wrestling world since its inception. It recently collaborated with WWE to bring in Shayna Baszler for a match.
The Bloodsport events, which feature shoot matches, take place a couple of times every year, and they are run by Josh Barnett, someone Bobby Lashley trained with in the past. The two men even competed for the TNA World Championship at one point.
Barnett considers The All Mighty an excellent fighter and may have his former foe appear at a future Bloodsport event.
#2. Bobby Lashley captures the AEW World Championship
AEW usually focuses on the technical and high-flying style of pro wrestling, so a powerhouse like Bobby Lashley joining the company would add a different dimension to the promotion.
Lashley had a pretty solid run as the WWE Champion in the past, so Tony Khan could book him to win the AEW World Title at some point if The All Mighty joins the company.
Moreover, Lashley becoming the AEW World Champion could help the Jacksonville-based promotion attract new fans due to the veteran's massive popularity in WWE.
#1. Another TNA run
Another promotion where Bobby Lashley could become a world champion is TNA. The former ECW World Champion enjoyed two separate stints with the promotion between 2009 and 2018. The 48-year-old is a four-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
If he returns to the Nashville-based promotion, Lashley will have a good chance of winning gold again. Lashley and MVP were a part of the Beat Down Clan in TNA a decade ago, so their reunion is possible there, too.
