Bray Wyatt must defeat John Cena at WrestleMania 30
Bray Wyatt is headed for the biggest match of the family’s WWE career when he faces John Cena at the showcase of immortals, WrestleMania 30. The patriarch of The Wyatt Family will be leading his followers to the grandest stage of them all against the top Superstar in the biggest Wrestling company.
And while Cena is undoubtedly the top star facing an upcoming talent in Bray, the truth is that “The Eater of Worlds” should come out on top. In fact, the truth is he must defeat Cena at WrestleMania.
The bad blood that exists between the two men goes back to the Royal Rumble, the night that Cena had his WWE world title rematch against Randy Orton. It was during that match that Bray and the family interfered and cost Cena the championship. That interference occurred again during the Elimination Chamber, when Cena was vying for the belt along with five other Superstars. Once again, Wyatt took his family into a situation that did not directly involve them and made a definite impact in the process.
Bray got Cena’s attention, and now the two men are preparing for war at WrestleMania.
Why should Bray defeat Cena on the grandest stage of them all? The answer to that lies in the fact that beating Cena would, of course, be a huge feather in the cap of Wyatt and would definitely put him on the map in WWE.
The reason for that is because while Bray’s fellow former NXT standouts, The Shield, have been completely dominating in WWE, The Wyatt Family’s success is sporadic at best.
The Wyatts are not the overwhelming force of destruction that The Hounds of Justice have been. They’re also not the catalysts for change that many fans feel The Shield is. But perhaps the biggest difference between the two factions is that The Shield is viewed as the future of WWE, while Bray and the family are merely just an entertaining trio.
WrestleMania 30 could change all of that for Wyatt.
Bray is the warped voice of reason in WWE. He is a visionary in his own mind, a prophet who speaks in riddles and believes that he has all the answers. He is able to see through the mask that other Superstars wear and dissect them from the inside out.
And that is exactly what he’s done with Cena, who he feels is nothing more than a liar who has deceived fans for years. Wyatt thinks that Cena’s time is over and that he should be taken out of the company before any more time passes. Bray’s character is moving forward as he attempts to beat Cena at WrestleMania. And for Wyatt the WWE Superstar, a win over Cena immediately puts him on the radar of fans who may be of the opinion that he’s nothing more than a novelty act.
A win over Cena would be the next step in legitimizing Bray’s character; it would put him in a whole new light among WWE fans that would surely consider him among an elite class in the company. The confidence that Bray’s character would have after beating Cena at ‘Mania would make him more dangerous and more unpredictable than ever before.
The fact is that Wyatt’s recent win over Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble was good. Defeating The Shield twice was even better. But putting Cena’s shoulders to the mat would be huge for Wyatt. It would be a statement win, a victory that could carry Bray one step higher in the company. In fact, it could actually elevate him up to main event status, especially if Bryan wins the WWE World Championship at WrestleMania.
For Wyatt, there is no time like the present to shine. And to shine against WWE’s No. 1 talent in Cena is an opportunity not afforded to that many Superstars. But for Bray’s character to progress and for him to be elevated, a win over Cena is not only desirable, it’s a must-win situation.
