Bray Wyatt will lose his aura at WWE Money in the Bank
Windham Rotunda was one of those guys who were born to wrestle. The profession ran through his family and when he got a developmental contract with the WWE, many were looking eager to do how he will turn out.
The eagerness wasn’t because he came from a reputed family instead it was due to the way Rotunda carried himself. He wasn’t one of those perfect looking wrestlers and was stamped as someone who could not make it to the top.
The predicted midcard stay almost materialized for Rotunda as the WWE decided to give him a character called Husky Harris which went nowhere.
He was soon taken away from television after the failure of Husky Harris and Rotunda had some time to develop a character for him and he did just that.
He came up with the idea of Bray Wyatt, a long bearded character that had the aura which Undertaker was known for in his initial run or even better. The character was welcomed with both hands by the WWE fans as it was something new to them.
And just like that Rotunda managed to bury Husky Harris and embarked on a journey with Bray Wyatt. Bray was accompanied by two big guys and the level of creepiness that the three managed to pile up was simply extraordinary.
Bray in particular, captivated the crowd with his promos and proved to them that he was different from everyone else.
While most of the superstars would go after mid card titles after a big debut, Bray did something more meaningful which gave his character more depth.
He was out to make a statement and win on moral grounds rather than make the numbers count. It was this attitude that the fans loved about him and made him different from all his companions.
In his last feud with John Cena also, Bray was looking to bring out the monster inside Cena instead of getting a win over the 14 time champion. Bray might’ve lost that feud but he made a big statement which will shine in his resume.
But the problem that Bray faces now is the booking he gets now.
Everyone knows that Bray is arguably the best character that was produced by the WWE in ages. and they had to be careful about handling him after the Cena feud.
It however didn’t happen and Bray has been put into the Money in the Bank match which throws everything he stood for out of the window.
It was obvious that Bray had to be put into the title picture at one point or the other, but a match like Money in the Bank in which the superstars show desperation to win the title wasn’t suited for Bray.
He is surely not going to be overshadowed by the others but he will just be one among them who just want to get to the top and be champion. The moral he stood for and the cult status that he built up till then turns into a waste.
The signs have been already dropped once Bray ended the Cena feud as he has been booked weakly by the WWE. His promos are top notch as usual and his in ring work is solid but Bray is slowly shedding off the character that everyone loves.
At Money in the Bank when he will be among the seven superstars, Bray will turn into another cliché who just wanted the gold from the business. And Bray showing desperations to reach the title would be an insult to everyone who followed him for the phenomenon that he was.
