Bret Hart's recent interview about Triple H

Bret Hart was recently interviewed and he had a few comments about Triple H.

“How great really is Triple H? I mean I can look at CM Punk and Rey Mysterio who have had really unique moves and they do things that are innovative. Then I look at someone like Triple H and when I look at him, he has always at a good look but what has he really done? What has he created that no one else has?

“Great? I don’t think so and if he is running the show, how can guys who run the show never do something great? I don’t think he has had a great match. Whenever I look at HHH’s matches, I want to see him do something to think “Yeah, he had greatness in him”. I pictured the whole Taker/HHH match and it was exactly like I predicted and it was pretty average.” “I just don’t think Triple H is a great wrestler. He’s a good one but great? No.”

Personally, I feel Bret Hart was being too disdainful and the Montreal Screwjob could be one of the reasons for this. However, there are a few points where I would agree with Bret. Firstly the Wrestlemania match between Triple H and The Undertaker wasn’t as great as it was made to look. The only thing that happened inside the cell was seemingly brutal exchange of chair shots and each wrestler kicking out of the other’s finisher which was in no way surprising at all.

But when it comes to running the show, Triple H is doing quite good. He is constantly monitoring the creative team and making changes accordingly. Credit to the resurrection of the tag-team division goes completely to Triple H and not to forget Kane-Daniel Bryan.

Irrespective of what Bret Hart’s comments are, I feel Triple H deserves the position and stature that he enjoys and has proven himself worthy of it. Though marrying the boss’ daughter did play advantage to some extent there is nothing one can take away from his hard work and talent.
