Brock Lesnar to announce retirement from WWE after seemingly being replaced by Goldberg? Exploring potential shock
Brock Lesnar hasn't been seen on WWE programming in more than a year and it seems that his connection to the recent lawsuit could keep him away from the company for a while.
The former World Champion was expected to step into a feud with Gunther after a tease during the Royal Rumble last year. However, it seems that Goldberg has now taken that role, with a match between the two men seemingly set to take place at some point in 2025.
Goldberg and Gunther had an interaction back in September at Bad Blood, but Gunther has a match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel and will most likely defend his World Championship at Survivor Series.
While WWE has made some teasers and mentions of Lesnar in recent weeks, it seems unlikely that he will be given the nod to return to the company since the company's legal department would need to give him the green light first.
This could lead to Lesnar making the decision to announce his retirement rather than being released from the company when his contract expires. Especially since it'll most likely take several years for the ongoing lawsuit to finally settle down.
Brock Lesnar was set to return at the Royal Rumble back in January
Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled to make his return to WWE at the Royal Rumble back in January. However, after his name was mentioned in connection to the Janel Grant lawsuit, the company distanced themselves from Lesnar.
While Triple H recently made it clear that Lesnar was still contracted to WWE and that the ball was in his court when it came to a return, that may not be the case since the company will want to ensure they are not dragged into any negativity ahead of their Netflix move, which is the biggest in the history of the company.
