WWE News: Brock Lesnar not appearing on WWE television till 2017

The Beast Incarnate will lay low until his time to strike next year

Brock Lesnar has only one more scheduled appearance, which is at a house show in Mexico City, against Rusev on December 3rd. Naturally, this event will not be televised, and according to Cage Side Seats, the Beast Incarnate will make no more televised appearances until 2017.

His arch rival Goldberg announced his participation in the Royal Rumble match next year. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that as of now, Lesnar is pencilled in to be in the same match as well.

It would likely lead to a similar happening in Royal Rumble 2004, where Lesnar costs Goldberg at winning the Rumble, which will lead to a Wrestlemania 33 blow-off match between the two icons. Watch the moment Goldberg confirmed that he would compete at Royal Rumble:

His match with Rusev at the Live event will likely just be a squash match, except this time around The Beast Incarnate, will be back to doing the squashing. Apparently, Lesnar himself pushed for the squash match against Goldberg to set up a long-term storyline and even pushed for Goldberg to sign again, because he saw money in the deal.

Naturally, Goldberg is a big draw as well. It is unlikely that he will appear this year, or until the build to the Royal Rumble.

The last two years have been the only times that Lesnar has wrestled more than five Pay-Per-Views a year. It is said that his deal requires him to wrestle only at 4 PPVs. WWE would have to shell out additional costs to get him for the extra one.

Last year, they did that for a blow-off match against The Undertaker inside Hell In A Cell, and this year for Survivor Series.

  • Many were under the impression that Goldberg was one-and-done, and he would put over Lesnar on the way out but were shocked when he squashed The Beast Incarnate, who has been built up heavily the past 3 and a half years. The squash has been met, for the most part, with a great deal of confusion from the fans.
