Brock Lesnar to return to RAW and call out WWE legend for one last match? Exploring the chances

With the 2024 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event just a few weeks away, Brock Lesnar is still nowhere to be seen on WWE TV.

The Beast Incarnate was last seen in a wrestling capacity when he put Cody Rhodes over to culminate their trilogy at SummerSlam in 2023. The 46-year-old star has since been on a hiatus, but rumor has it that his brief sabbatical could be over soon.

Brock Lesnar has been heavily linked with a Royal Rumble return lately. However, the Stamford-based company would be making a mistake by putting him into the 30-man namesake match, which he has already won twice in his career.

There is nothing that Lesnar has not achieved in this business except erasing the only blemish on his career, and his name is Batista. Both men began their respective careers in Ohio Valley Wrestling, a former developmental territory for WWE.

However, the two men never crossed paths, at least not on television, which is a crying shame. The Animal and The Beast Incarnate wrestled against each other twice, once at Ohio Valley Wrestling and the other during a RAW house show almost two decades ago.

Lesnar and Batista are currently tied at one-one, with a rubber clash long overdue. It is unlikely that the dream match will happen anytime soon. However, The Animal has sparked speculation of his in-ring return after he posted a picture of his impressive body transformation.

The 54-year-old WWE legend called it quits shortly after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 35. With a possible Hall of Fame induction looming, the Stamford-based company can bring back Batista for one last match if his health allows.

Brock Lesnar can call him out for a face-to-face confrontation on RAW in the coming weeks to set up a blockbuster WrestleMania 40 showdown. A match of this star power would bring significant eyeballs to the product ahead of The Show of Shows. Will the fantasy warfare turn into reality? Only time will tell.

Batista opened up about his match against Brock Lesnar

While speaking on the Talk is Jericho podcast years ago, former WWE Superstar Batista jokingly dismissed the idea of another match with Brock Lesnar.

"I only worked with Brock in OVW. He worked one house show in WWE, (..) he just jobbed me out. It was a total squash match. I hadn’t even....we had been with Evolution. I don’t know if I want Brock to drop me on my head," Batista said.

Nevertheless, there is one person who has expressed his desire to face The Beast Incarnate at The Grandest Stage of Them All. You can click here to find out who that wrestler is. What WWE has planned for Brock Lesnar in the near future remains to be seen.
