Brock Lesnar to return to take out major RAW star, trend to follow - 4 reasons why The Beast must return at WWE SummerSlam
Brock Lesnar hasn't been seen on WWE TV in more than a year and while some of the recent reports give a bleak update on his potential return, there is a chance he could be part of SummerSlam this weekend.
Brock Lesnar is one of the biggest names that WWE has ever created and was last seen at SummerSlam last year when he was defeated by Cody Rhodes. After a calendar year on the sidelines, it could finally be time for him to pick up a new feud at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
The following list looks at just four reasons why Brock Lesnar will be part of SummerSlam.
#4. It has been a year
If Brock Lesnar was looking for some time away from the ring and waiting for his personal issues to blow over then it could finally be time. It's been a year since he was last seen in a WWE ring and six months since his reportedly planned return was scrapped.
Lesnar has storylines he could step into with a number of stars at the moment and if WWE delays his return any longer it could reach the point where fans forget about him and the desired effect of his return might not have the same impact anymore.
#3. SummerSlam is his event
SummerSlam has always been seen as a good hunting ground for Brock Lesnar, the statistics support the theory that this is his event since he has main evented the show seven times, more than any other star with only The Undertaker coming close to his tally at five.
Six of these seven main events have come within the last decade and as part of his return push before his exit following his loss to Cody Rhodes. It should also be noted that Lesnar has won six matches and lost six matches at SummerSlam in his 12 appearances ranking six in the overall appearance list. Randy Orton and The Undertaker are tied in first with 16.
#2. Triple H recently claimed he could return when he is ready
There have been a lot of claims made about Brock Lesnar over the past year and Triple H has been open to comment on his future. The most recent interview about Lesnar saw The Game claim that it's up to Brock to approach him when he's ready to return.
The above video shows that Lesnar is the one in the driving seat at the moment and could ask to have a conversation regarding a return at the pay-per-view event that has given him so much success.
#1. The Gunther dream match could easily be set up
Gunther is clearly unstoppable in WWE at the moment and if left alone to face Damian Priest he will likely walk out as World Champion on Saturday. The crowning moment for Gunther would be to have that happen next month in Germany, which means that there has to be some interference at SummerSlam.
Lesnar and Gunther have been on a collision course for several years and both are open to a dream match. If it's Lesnar who returns to take out Gunther and send a message on Saturday night, could their dream match happen in Berlin?
