Brock Lesnar taps out: The 3 times the Beast Incarnate was forced to submit in WWE
Brock Lesnar is one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE. Over the course of his career, he has earned a reputation for domination and winning against whomever he's facing.
Not only has the star defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania to end his streak, but he also has left carnage in his wake, destroying some of the top names in wrestling. Be it Goldberg, Triple H, Kurt Angle, The Big Show, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan, or even the Rock, multiple WWE legends and stars have found themselves victims to the Beast Incarnate.
With a penchant for toughness and his ability to demolish anyone in his way, he also has legitimate roots, with an incredibly successful run in UFC, where he even became the Heavyweight Champion.
However, there have been three times that Lesnar was actually forced to tap out in WWE. The instances are rare enough that fans would have to pick through his career with a fine-tooth comb to find these instances. Without any further ado, let's take a look at when and where they happened.
It should be noted that although he lost to The Undertaker via "Submission" in the official records at SummerSlam 2015, he didn't tap out, but he passed out, so the Deadman was awarded the victory. Also, there have been times when Lesnar has tapped that the referee was not in the ring or conscious. Those won't be counted.
#1. Brock Lesnar taps out vs. Kurt Angle in an Iron Man match
One of the big falls from the Iron Man Match between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, when they faced each other on WWE SmackDown in 2003, came in the form of a submission.
The stars battled, with Lesnar getting multiple falls over Angle quickly, but as the match progressed, Angle began to get his own back. At one point, he locked the Ankle Lock on Lesnar, where the star was unable to escape. He could not do anything to relieve the pain, and he tapped out.
#2. Brock Lesnar taps out to Kurt Angle to lose his championship opportunity
Brock Lesnar has found himself in rather inescapable situations in the past where the star has grown desperate.
However, there are very few occasions where he was in as much trouble as when he was facing Angle at SummerSlam 2003. This was at the peak of Lesnar's powers. The Beast seemed to be someone who just couldn't lose.
Tapping out was unthinkable for him and just something that could not happen. He even had Vince McMahon in his corner for the bout. But at the end of the match, Kurt Angle locked in the Ankle Lock tight, and even with McMahon gesturing to Lesnar to flip Angle over, the pain proved to be too much, and he tapped out, ending it there and then.
#3. Brock Lesnar taps out to Chris Benoit at Survivor Series 2003
While Kurt Angle is the only man to make Brock Lesnar tap out twice, there's another star who's had some success with the former Universal Champion.
In an odd coincidence, all three times that Lesnar has tapped in a WWE match happened in 2003. This time, it was against Chris Benoit at Survivor Series. It was Team Angle facing Team Lesnar, and before the match could end, Benoit eliminated Lesnar and made him tap out with the Crossface.
This is the only other time that the star has submitted.
