Bubba Ray talks about his Bully Ray gimmick, The New Day and more

Will Bully Ray make an appearance in the WWE?

Bubba Ray Dudley has been one half of the most decorated tag team champions to set foot into the WWE. Along with his ‘brother’ D-Von, Bubba dominated the Tag Division during the Attitude Era and has returned to do the same again.

Bubba was talking with Live Audio Wrestling and spoke about Bully Ray, James Storm, The New Day and more. Here are some of the highlights. 

On his Bully Ray gimmick

Bubba was asked about his Bully Ray gimmick which he made famous in TNA. He said that if the WWE want him to do something similar he would gladly oblige.

He stated that he has played that character for a long time and would not be difficult to recreate it again. 

"I would be more than happy to go down that road since I know I’ve done it in the past & I know I’ve done it in the past well. So I definitely think it could work.”

On the New Day

Bubba said that the biggest thing today in the WWE business in entertainment. He added the WWE want people who are entertaining. The New Day have been very entertaining and the most important thing is the fans cheering or booing them for being entertaining, that's what counts.

Bubba also said that he is a bit old school but the entertainment factor is what is working out for them.

"So if you’re entertaining and the people hate you that’s fine. And if you’re entertaining and the people love you that’s fine – as long as you’re entertaining.”

On James Storm debuting in NXT

Bubba, who has worked with James Storm in TNA, praised him and called him a great in-ring worker. He said that Storm is an excellent performer and can help a lot of guys coming through NXT and develop them into world class talents in the future.

"He did well on his own. He has a lot of years of knowledge & I think he can only help down there in NXT.”

On the 3D Academy partnering with the WWE

Bubba and his tag team partner D-Von have opened up wrestling schools called the 3D Academy which is very near the WWE Performance Center. Bubba stated that he would love the WWE partnering with his wrestling school.

He said that theirs is a very traditional wrestling school which is open to all. He added that he has definitely given it a thought about partnering with the WWE.

"It’s definitely something that me and D-Von have thought about in the past. We’re very proud of our school, the Team 3-D Academy.
