WWE News: Charlotte speaks on Becky Lynch being her Sting, and future goals in WWE
Charlotte has been the most primarily featured female talent on the main roster since her call-up from NXT. She won the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella at Night Of Champions, putting an end to her record-setting reign.
Charlotte has been featured on every Pay-Per-View since her debut(now minus the Smackdown Live PPVs), being the second person to wrestle at 12 consecutive PPVs since their debut. The first on the list was Kevin Owens, who made the record only a month or two before Charlotte.
Also, the fact that Charlotte was the 2nd draft pick for Raw and the second overall draft pick says a lot about her value to the company. Many have attributed her success to her being the daughter of the Two-Time WWE Hall Of Famer and 16-time World Champion Ric Flair, but she has been nothing but a workhorse for the company, if not the face of the Women's division in WWE.
Charlotte’s father Ric Flair has had a renowned rivalry with Sting, WCW's biggest babyface. Charlotte believes that she has her own Sting, her best friend Becky Lynch. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, she said:
“Becky is my Sting. She is a white meat, pure babyface. There is no gray area. She’s my size, she’s hard-hitting, and we’re best friends.”
However, after the draft, it looks like Charlotte and Becky will not be crossing paths anytime soon, as Becky Lynch was drafted to Smackdown, where she is the inaugural Smackdown Women's Champion, and the face of the Women's division in the blue brand.
When asked about her future goals, Charlotte said:
“I want to headline a pay per view, and I want it to be the fatal four-way with the Four Horsewomen,” said Charlotte, referring to herself, Banks, Lynch, and Bayley. “The last time I cried was watching the Women’s Revolution on WWE Network a couple of weeks ago when they asked Bayley if she felt left out of WrestleMania [32], and she said, ‘No, I felt a part of it, because even though it was the three of them [Banks, Lynch, and Charlotte] there, it took the four of us to get to where we are.”
Charlotte and Sasha Banks main evented the latest episode of Raw, being the first women to do so in 12 years. Despite the fact that Charlotte lost the title once more to Sasha Banks, she came out of it looking like a star, further cementing her place as one of the greatest female wrestlers in WWE history.
