CM Punk to have a big role at Survivor Series; new blood feud? 4 Predictions for The Best in The World when he returns to WWE

WWE has a lot of big stars these days. Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso are some of the names who fans gravitate towards the most and seemingly sell the most merchandise.

CM Punk is also part of that list. The Straight Edge Superstar is one of the top wrestlers in the company and the world. He is extremely popular, and while controversial, has a massive fan base of diehard loyalists who support him no matter what.

Unfortunately, The Best in The World hasn't been seen on television in quite a while. He had a brutal Hell in a Cell Match against Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood in October 2024. Later on RAW, Punk revealed that he would step away from the squared circle for an indefinite period.

When he does show up, there are a lot of intriguing possibilities that await The Straight Edge Superstar in terms of feuds and stories. This article will list four predictions for Punk upon his impending television return.

Below are four predictions for CM Punk when he returns to WWE TV:

#4. Paul Heyman could reintroduce CM Punk at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 will take place later this month. The show will feature a Men's WarGames Match, pitting Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn against Bronson Reed, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu.

Notably, Roman Reigns' team is missing one member. While Sami Zayn and The Usos have attempted to recruit various WWE stars, none have accepted their offer. Roman tried to reach out to Paul Heyman last Friday, but he couldn't get in touch with his Wiseman.

While some fans think Seth Rollins will give in and help the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames, a different twist could occur. Paul Heyman could return and introduce CM Punk as the fifth member of Team Roman. Punk's potential comeback could then set the stage for more issues between him and The Visionary heading into WrestleMania season.

#3. He could have a mini-feud with Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio is one of WWE's most despised stars. He is a member of The Judgment Day, alongside Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Finn Balor, Carlito, and JD McDonagh. Dom is also a two-time NXT North American Champion.

Interestingly, Dirty Dom and CM Punk have taken some shots at each other in the past few months. The Second City Saint was the first to take an unprovoked shot in early October.

Dirty Dom later took shots at veteran WWE stars, calling them "old heads!"

It appears the two are setting up a rivalry of some kind. After Punk's return, the two could likely have a mini-feud on television. Who knows? They could even have a match at Saturday Night's Main Event next month.

#2. CM Punk could challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title at the 2025 Royal Rumble

Gunther is the top dog on WWE Monday Night RAW. He is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. The Ring General claimed the title after defeating Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024. This was after the powerful Austrian won the 2024 King of the Ring tournament.

The Imperium leader has a major title match coming up at the Survivor Series: WarGames PLE. The Austrian will take on the very same man he defeated to win the title: Damian Priest. The powerful Puerto Rican has been getting one up on Gunther repeatedly in recent weeks.

Still, Gunther will almost certainly retain his title in Canada. As a result, CM Punk could step up and become his next big challenger. Supposing Gunther doesn't battle anyone in December, The Best in The World and The Ring General could clash at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

#1. Seth Rollins and CM Punk could go one-on-one at WrestleMania 41

The story of Seth Rollins and CM Punk has been a fascinating one to watch unfold. When The Voice of The Voiceless made his WWE return nearly one year ago at the Survivor Series: WarGames PLE, The Visionary snapped and started cussing The Second City Saint.

From there, the two men have gone on to have several heated promos, and Seth even served as a special guest referee for a match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2024. The two could set up a full-blown feud after Punk's impending return, leading to a showdown at WrestleMania 41.

The Architect and The Straight Edge Superstar were seemingly set to clash at this year's Show of Shows. However, Punk's injury derailed the alleged plans. One year later, the dream match could finally take place at The Showcase of The Immortals in Las Vegas.
