CM Punk to make major challenge, new champions crowned - 5 surprises that could happen on WWE RAW
WWE is on the road to Bash in Berlin, and tomorrow night's edition of RAW will air live from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There are already several exciting matches planned for tomorrow night's show.
Sheamus will finally square off against Pete Dunne in a singles match after the former Brawling Brutes member attacked him numerous times on WWE RAW. Meanwhile, The Final Testament will battle Odyssey Jones, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods in a six-man tag team match. The Unholy Union are also set to defend the Women's Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat match tomorrow night on the red brand.
Listed below are five surprises that could happen during this week's episode of WWE RAW.
#5. Xavier Woods could betray Odyssey Jones on WWE RAW
Odyssey Jones finally arrived on the main roster and helped The New Day against The Final Testament on the August 5 edition of WWE RAW. The big man was selected by the red brand in the 2023 WWE Draft but didn't appear on the roster for a year and a half following his selection.
Jones shared an interesting message earlier today on social media and highlighted that Xavier Woods could have some issues with him. The Final Testament has been trying to get Woods to leave The New Day for months, and he could finally give in by betraying Odyssey Jones during the six-man tag team match scheduled for tomorrow night's show.
#4. Maxxine Dupri could defeat Ivy Nile
Ivy Nile joined the American Made faction with Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers on WWE RAW. Chad Gable was previously the leader of Alpha Academy with Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri. However, Gable turned heel due to his obsession with the Intercontinental Championship, and Alpha Academy no longer wanted anything to do with him.
Nile attacked Dupri on this past Monday's episode of RAW because the 27-year-old was not interested in joining American Made. Dupri could pull off a major upset tomorrow night on RAW and defeat Nile in their singles match.
Maxxine Dupri has not won a match since she was in a tag team with Ivy Nile and the unlikely duo defeated Cancide LeRae and Indi Hartwell on the April 1 episode of the red brand.
#3. CM Punk could challenge Drew McIntyre to a match at Bash in Berlin
Drew McIntyre defeated CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam in a singles match, with Seth Rollins serving as the Special Guest Referee. Punk got distracted by The Visionary's presence, and The Scottish Warrior capitalized with a Claymore to the face to pick up the win at the Premium Live Event earlier this month.
Punk responded by attacking McIntyre last Monday night and whipping him several times with a belt. The 45-year-old could challenge McIntyre to a Strap Match during tomorrow night's show. McIntyre and Punk are also rumored to main event WWE Bad Blood in October.
#2. Pete Dunne could pull off a surprising upset against his former mentor
Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Pete Dunne (formerly known as Butch) were once known as The Brawling Brutes faction. Ridge Holland has returned to NXT, and Pete Dunne has blamed Sheamus for his forgettable "Butch" nickname. Dunne has attacked The Celtic Warrior from behind several times in recent weeks, and the two former stablemates will be squaring off on this week's WWE RAW.
Pete Dunne was very successful during his time in NXT but has never won a title on the main roster. If Dunne is able to pick up an impressive win over Sheamus tomorrow night, he could be in line for a major push by the promotion. The Bruiserweight is quite bitter towards Sheamus and has the chance to get the better of his former mentor this week.
#1. Pure Fusion Collective could win the Women's Tag Team Championship
Damage CTRL's IYO SKY and Kairi Sane battled Pure Fusion Collective's Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark last week on RAW in a number one contenders match. However, Women's Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre (The Unholy Union) interfered in the match to end it via disqualification.
The Unholy Union will be defending the titles against Pure Fusion Collective and Damage CTRL in a Triple Threat match tomorrow night on WWE RAW. The new RAW faction could capture the titles and may be featured as a dominant faction moving forward.
