CM Punk’s return to force former WWE Champion to turn heel for the first time in 2 years? Chances explored
Former WWE Champion CM Punk made his much-awaited return on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He didn't come alone, as he made his shocking return alongside Paul Heyman, as the fifth and final member of The Original Bloodline for Survivor Series WarGames 2024 against Solo Sikoa’s heel version of Bloodline.
However, before Punk was introduced, the entire OG Bloodline, except Roman Reigns, was highly leaning towards Seth Rollins to join them at WarGames. He has been involved in a heated feud against Bronson Reed on the red brand, who joined Sikoa’s heel faction.
Despite Sami Zayn inviting him twice to be the fifth member, Rollins refused, and on the latest episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman introduced Punk as the final member. However, this move by The Best in the World could anger not only the members of Solo's Bloodline but also Seth Rollins.
Will former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and CM Punk face each other?
Seth Rollins could turn heel again after two years. This week on SmackDown, CM Punk aligned himself with Roman Reigns and his crew. The Visionary could blame Punk for trying to take his place in the Bloodline feud. While Rollins might have refused the OG Bloodline's offers to join them so far, he might still have had plans to take Bronson Reed out. However, Punk has now made Seth feel redundant to this feud and may cause fans to question his position on the card that he had earned with his blood and sweat while The Best in the World was away all these years.
Punk and Rollins’s feud is long due; they were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania 40 before The Second City Saint sustained a real-life injury that kept him out of action for a while. Then, upon his return, Punk was engaged in a heated feud against Drew McIntyre.
During Punk's last appearance on Monday Night RAW before going on a break, WWE planted seeds for Rollins vs. Punk when both superstars had an intense face-off. After Survivor Series 2024, The Best in the World could return to RAW for a potentially heated feud with The Visionary. This might lead to a match between both megastars at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It remains to be seen how Roman Reigns and Punk will work together as a team during the Men's WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024 and if Rollins has any role in this huge match.
