Cody Rhodes to announce Randy Orton's future after injury & put his title on the line? Potential Survivor Series grudge match explored
Cody Rhodes left WWE SmackDown in an ambulance this past week as he helped Randy Orton to the hospital, where the star was evaluated for cervical injuries. The star has been silent since then, not addressing what happened with The Viper. However, it may now be time for him to break his silence and finally speak about what will happen.
Randy Orton was attacked by Kevin Owens on SmackDown last week, where he hit him with a piledriver. This left Orton unable to "feel anything" as he was stretchered out of the arena, with Cody Rhodes accompanying him.
Owens has been on a mission since Rhodes teamed up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood. After attacking Rhodes himself, Orton siding with Cody didn't sit well with him either. He has since attacked the star, with his latest attack sidelining Orton. Now that WWE has announced that Randy suffered "cervical cord neuropraxia," Cody Rhodes may finally get involved with Owens.
On SmackDown this week, Cody Rhodes may decide to take things far. It's expected that he'll know more about Orton's condition after accompanying him to the hospital, so he will likely give an update about The Viper's future to the fans. After this, he would finally give Owens what he wanted - a title shot - something that would also get Cody what he wanted.
It's clear that Cody Rhodes would probably want a match against Owens to take revenge for the past attack and what he has done to Orton. At this time, the champion does not have a match at Survivor Series, and so this provides the perfect opportunity for WWE to do what's needed. Owens would also probably like another chance at the gold while getting his hands on Rhodes. This feud is unlikely to be solved by anything short of a grudge match.
Randy Orton's condition is not the best, as per WWE, after Cody Rhodes helped him to the hospital on WWE SmackDown
After Rhodes helped Randy Orton to the hospital this week after SmackDown, WWE later announced that the star had suffered cervical cord neuropraxia.
This came after the hospital's evaluation, but it was not all. They also stated that the star would be out of action indefinitely following the injury.
Thus, there's no telling when The Viper will finally be able to return to the ring.
