Cody Rhodes' biggest challenge, Paul Heyman to grant major favor? - 4 matches for CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 41

WWE's final Premium Live Event of 2024 took place this past weekend with NXT Deadline. Now, all eyes are on the next big television special from the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in Saturday Night's Main Event.

Come 2025, however, World Wrestling Entertainment will host numerous big events. As is common every year, the biggest show of the year will be WrestleMania. This edition will be the 41st edition of the massive extravaganza.

While a lot of talent will be hoping to make a splash at the two-night event, one name who hopes to headline the show is CM Punk. The Second City Saint will likely try to win the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble or go into the show as champion to secure a top spot on the card.

Of course, things don't always work out how a talent may want. Still, whether as a champion, contender or in some other match, Punk will surely compete at The Show Of Shows. This article will look at four potential bouts for the big star on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Below are four matches for CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 41.

#4. He could go one-on-one with John Cena for the last time ever

John Cena is one of the biggest wrestling stars in history. He was largely responsible for keeping WWE in a strong position for years despite questionable booking from Vince McMahon. He is a future Hall of Famer and a 16-time world champion.

In upsetting news, 2025 will be the final year of John Cena as an active WWE Superstar. He has revealed that by the end of the year, he will retire from the ring and never compete again.

As a result, many wrestlers are lining up hoping to wrestle Cena for the first time ever or one more time. CM Punk and John have a long history together and had numerous classic matches, so it would be nice to see the talented stars and legends have one more big match together before Cena hangs his jorts up for good.

#3. CM Punk could challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes is one of the most popular stars in all of pro wrestling, perhaps only behind breakout names like John Cena and The Rock. As far as full-time WWE stars go, nobody can touch him in terms of fan support. With that being said, he's also successful as a competitor.

The American Nightmare sits on top of the throne as the Undisputed WWE Champion. He defeated Roman Reigns for the prized belt at WrestleMania and hopes to walk into WrestleMania 41 as a champion still one year later.

CM Punk could potentially win the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble Match. If he enters and wins, he could then go on to challenge Cody for the prized belt at the biggest event of the year. Cody and Punk were the final two in this year's Royal Rumble Match, so the pair then clashing at WrestleMania over one year later would be poetic.

#2. A match against Seth Rollins just makes sense

Seth Rollins is a veteran who has been one of WWE's most consistent performers for over a decade now. He joined the main roster as a member of The Shield and has since gone on to headline WrestleMania and win several world titles.

The Visionary and CM Punk have had a lot of issues, with some apparently going back well over a decade. Still, once CM Punk returned to WWE, things truly heated up between the pair and it has been ugly ever since.

Most fans believe CM Punk and Seth Rollins were primed to fight for the World Heavyweight Title at last year's WrestleMania if not for Punk getting injured. As a result, it would just make sense for Triple H and company officials to run it back and actually make the match happen in 2025.

#1. He could cash in his favor and fight Roman Reigns

While Cody Rhodes is arguably the most popular name in WWE today, Roman Reigns is the biggest star. He is nicknamed The Needle Mover for a reason, as where he goes, so do the fans. Roman is a significant draw.

Recently, Roman has been involved in a feud with The Bloodline. During the storyline, Paul Heyman recruited CM Punk to help Roman and The OG Bloodline take down Solo Sikoa's stable at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.

Notably, the recruitment came at a cost: a mysterious favor that Heyman promised to grant Punk. In what could be an exciting move, that favor could be a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Whether a title is on the line or not, Roman vs. Punk is a WrestleMania main event based on star power alone, which has been Punk's dream. Heyman could make that happen.
