Major WWE star, not Kevin Owens, to betray Cody Rhodes for helping Roman Reigns? Exploring potential twist
Last week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes signed a contract to become the official tag team partner of Roman Reigns to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood. The fans are super excited to see these two former rivals team up, however, a certain superstar may not be.
When Roman Reigns was the leader of The Bloodline, they ran havoc on SmackDown. They destroyed anyone who came in their way so that they could stay on top. WrestleMania XL was redemption day for the superstars when Cody Rhodes finally dethroned the Original Tribal Chief. After a bitter rivalry, which lasted for over two years, teaming with Reigns could lead to Rhodes witness a major betrayal from a friend and that won't be Kevin Owens. The betrayal could come from none other than, The Viper, Randy Orton.
The Legend Killer was having the time of his life as a tag team player two years ago alongside Matt Riddle when The Bloodline took him out for nearly two years. His injury was so bad, that many felt he would never step inside the squared circle until he finally did at last year's Survivor Series.
After his return, Randy Orton went after Reigns for almost ending his career. The Viper even backed Cody Rhodes against his battle with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline earlier this year. With Rhodes teaming up with Orton's former rival, Roman Reigns, this could lead to the 14-time World Champion turning on The American Nightmare at or after Bad Blood.
Last night on WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens had the opportunity to pull the trigger on Rhodes with a chair in hand, however, he decided not to.
Roman Reigns told Cody Rhodes he will take what's his after he is done with The Bloodline
Last night on SmackDown, Reigns and Rhodes pulled off one of the greatest segments in WWE history. Both superstars confronted each other at Georgia Tech to discuss the past, their upcoming match at Bad Blood, and the future.
Both superstars assured each other that they could trust each other and look out for each other at Bad Blood. However, what at the end of the segment got everyone's heart racing once again.
At the end of the segment, Roman Reigns told Cody Rhodes after he is done with The Bloodline, he will take back his Undisputed WWE Title, which Rhodes won by defeating Reigns at WrestleMania. To which the champion replied, it isn't his. The segment ended with the Original Tribal Chief telling The American Nightmare the latter is in his way, in life.
There have been rumors that Cody Rhodes' next title defense will be against Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia following Bad Blood. Some reports also noted that Rhodes might lose his title before WrestleMania, however, there is no word on who will defeat him.
Rhodes is in the middle of multiple storylines. The Bloodline angle, his equation with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, and the ever-lasting threat of The Rock returning. Looking at The American Nightmare current run, it is safe to say, just like Roman Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Champion is just in his third inning.
