What’s the story?

Former WWE superstar and current Ring of Honor star Cody Rhodes was recently a guest of The E&C Podcast and during the conversation, ‘The American Nightmare’ discussed a host of topics, including a special comment he made on WWE COO and former colleague Triple H.

In case you didn’t know…

Ever since departing from the WWE in 2016, Rhodes’ Professional Wrestling career has drastically changed in a positive manner, as ‘The Grandson of a Plumber’ signed a contract with top American promotion Ring of Honor and additionally also became the newest member of world famous faction, The Bullet Club.

Rhodes, 32, also made his debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2016 and simultaneously also competed for ROH, where he is a former one-time ROH World Champion, having defeated Cristopher Daniels at ROH: Best in the World, 2017.

The heart of the matter

While interacting with former WWE World Champions Edge and Christian on the recent edition of The E&C Podcast, ‘The American Nightmare’ Rhodes revealed that following his historic ROH World Championship win over Daniels in 2017, the former WWE superstar seemingly received a congratulatory message from WWE COO Triple H. “The coolest feeling in the world is to have text messages from people in our industry who don’t have text you. Somebody like Triple H telling me ‘congrats’ for winning the ROH World title. It makes what we do real. My Dad always told me that was the only real thing we do is the World Title.”- Cody Rhodes.

What’s next?

Rhodes is currently riding high with the recent success of his self-financed 10,000 seat event All In, which is slated to take place on the 1st of September at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

In addition, the former ROH World Champion is also currently scheduled to challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championships when Rhodes and fellow BC stablemate Hangman Page challenge The Briscoe Brothers at Honor United: Edinburgh.

Triple H sending out a congratulatory text to Rhodes following his ROH World Title win is definitely not a story that you get heard every day in the world of Professional Wrestling, however, this goes on to show and reflect on the unity within the Pro Wrestling industry.
