Current champions, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens' next feud after The Bloodline? - 4 dream matches for MSK in WWE
WWE NXT aired last night on the USA Network. The show was headlined by a tag team bout featuring former AEW stars Shawn Spears and Ethan Page against current TNA performer Joe Hendry and NXT's Trick Williams.
Joe Hendry wasn't the only star of TNA Wrestling who appeared on NXT this week. Wes Lee cut a promo in the middle of the ring that was seemingly pointing to his exit from NXT when suddenly three familiar letters were heard: MSK.
His former tag team partner from MSK, Zachary Wentz, showed up, as did another member of The Rascalz, Trey Miguel. Both men are currently in TNA. They encouraged Wes to keep going, and this led to both MSK and The Rascalz officially reuniting in NXT.
While Zachary and Trey are still TNA stars, it appears that, at least for the time being, MSK is back. This means there are a lot of exciting dream matches to be had. This article will look at a handful of bouts the former NXT Tag Team Champions can have now that they're reunited in World Wrestling Entertainment.
Below are four dream matches for MSK in WWE.
#4. R-KO could still team up after The Bloodline feud ends
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are two incredible pro wrestling veterans. Both men are former WWE World Champions who have united with one goal: they want to take down The Bloodline. This has led the pair to form a team known as R-KO.
Kevin Owens and The Viper being a tag team doesn't make sense on paper, but they have been a delight to watch. While the duo united in WWE to take down both The Bloodline and Logan Paul, this doesn't mean that their team has to be short-lived.
The pair can decide to focus on being a tag team full-time even after The Bloodline story ends. Supposing their time battling the faction is over soon, they could have an epic clash with MSK. How will the smaller, athletic, and charismatic tag team hang with two former world champions?
#3. Nathan Frazer and Axiom are one of the best tag teams in the world
Nathan Frazer and Axiom are two of the most athletic and impressive wrestlers going today. They started their WWE careers on NXT UK and later jumped to NXT. While they were initially opponents, the duo eventually formed a tag team and it has been a success.
The pair are the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, and many believed that issues between the two were leading to a split. Thankfully, that has proven to not be the case, as Axiom and Nathan defeated Chase U in what was a classic tag team match at WWE NXT Heatwave.
With their performances, Axiom and Nathan are proving themselves to be one of the best tag teams in the world. MSK was once the best team on NXT and one of the best in the world too. A bout between the two teams could be incredible.
#2. The Street Profits would tear it up with MSK
The Street Profits are one of the most popular teams in pro wrestling. The duo consists of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. Since uniting, Ford and Dawkins have managed to win tag team gold on RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and even outside of WWE in EVOLVE.
The duo has been rebuilding momentum after losing quite a bit over the past year or so. They have united with Kevin Owens at times on WWE SmackDown and even picked up a big victory over Pretty Deadly just last week.
Both Montez and Angelo are fantastic pro wrestlers who are capable of having great matches. The athletic and charismatic members of The Pride could tear it up with MSK if the opportunity comes their way, be it on SmackDown, NXT, or even in TNA.
#1. DIY could defend their WWE Tag Team Titles
DIY is a tag team currently on the SmackDown brand. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa make up the duo. The two were indie stars before joining WWE, and they went on to win the NXT Tag Team Titles together before they had an epic feud. They reunited last year on the main roster.
Johnny Wrestling and The Blackheart accomplished their dream on WWE Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto last week. They challenged and defeated the team of A-Town Down Under for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Now that DIY are the champions, they'll be looking for competition. While SmackDown has some great teams, MSK appearing and challenging the new champions could lead to a barn burner of a match. It would truly start this title reign off right.
