Damian Priest to cost Finn Balor & JD McDonagh their titles against popular duo on RAW? Exploring potential swerve

Finn Balor struck at SummerSlam when it was least expected. Damian Priest lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther after Balor betrayed his Judgment Day stablemate and assisted The Ring General to win.

The Archer of Infamy will be looking to take revenge on Balor, and he could do so by costing him the World Tag Team titles. On the July 22 episode of RAW, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso defeated Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, which will soon bring them in line for a tag team title shot.

Priest could do the same that Balor did to him. During the potential tag team title match, the former World Champion could interfere and help Zayn and Uso win the Tag Team Championships, starting a feud with Finn Balor.

Over the past year, Finn Balor and Damian Priest have had their ruff patches together, especially after the latter became the World Heavyweight Champion. However, they seem to always find a way to work together and be on the same page.

As things unfolded at SummerSlam, The Prince kept his hard feelings inside him for a long time. He struck at The Biggest Party of The Summer when he helped Gunther beat his former teammate, who was on the brink of victory.

WWE Superstar wants to have a feud with Finn Balor

The Prince is one of the most renowned pro-wrestling superstars in the world. From NWA to NJPW to WWE, Balor has made a name for himself. Multiple superstars have expressed their desire to share the ring with Balor. One of them is the current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, The Ring General revealed he would love to meet with Balor again in the ring. They faced each other last week on RAW, and Gunther would like to get another shot at the former Universal Champion.

"We’d just flown in from Japan before Raw, but wrestling Finn Balor, I was excited for that one,” said Gunther. “Years ago, he came to wXw when he transitioned from New Japan to WWE. I’ve known him since back then and he’s always someone I’ve always looked up to as a wrestler. He’s one of the best European wrestlers ever, and he did it his own way. It was great to be in the ring with an excellent professional wrestler. The match was exactly what it was supposed to be for the occasion. Down the line, I really hope we fulfill our potential with a proper program.”

Now, with Balor going on his own and Gunther being the World Heavyweight Champion, a storyline between them is possible. Given the level of performances both superstars can put up, it could be a top-notch one. It could all start with Finn Balor asking for a title shot because he helped him win it.
