Damian Priest must form a new faction if The Judgment Day betrays him at WWE SummerSlam

Damian Priest has come into his own since becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Now a fan favorite, The Archer of Infamy has become the de facto leader of The Judgment Day, and while there was a bit of turbulence at the beginning, things are looking up. But how long will it last?

While the group seems to be on the same page right now, one cannot help but feel that their time together is almost at its end. Many in the WWE Universe expect to see a major betrayal at SummerSlam, one that sees Judgment Day split up. So, if that proves to be the case, Damian Priest will have a lot to think about.

Well, while he might be angry and focused on the betrayal, Damian Priest would be wise to look for new friends. He will come out as a true babyface from this hypothetical ordeal. And, if he does, he may even just consider forming a new faction.

Now, there are plenty of reasons why he should do that, but here are just a few:

Damian Priest could form a team with Rhea Ripley and Jey Uso

While there is tension between Damian Priest and the likes of Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio, he is still on good terms with Rhea Ripley. Both El Campeon and Mami serve as the leaders of The Judgment Day and have remained close through hell or high water. Should Priest be betrayed at SummerSlam, he will surely still have Ripley by his side. Additionally, he can also choose to form a friendship with Jey Uso.

Granted, Uso gave Priest a run for his money in his first-ever title defense, but the two might become fast friends. In the last few weeks, both men have been on the same page, to the point where Priest was even "Yeeting" with Jey at a house show. Together, with Rhea Ripley, they have the makings of a formidable faction, with a fun dynamic to boot.

It would be a nice change of pace to see Priest at the head of a babyface faction

For the longest time, Damian Priest has embodied the role of a heel character. Now, as part of The Judgment Day, this should come as no surprise, but things are starting to change. As mentioned earlier, Priest is slowly becoming a fan favorite and looks ready to make a face turn. It certainly would be a nice change of pace, and the fans can cheer him on all day long, knowing that he is on the right side of things.

With that in mind, the WWE Universe wouldn't be averse to seeing Priest at the head of a babyface faction. Truth be told, it's been a while since WWE has had one of those. It would even set up a perfect faction war between a Judgment Day led by Finn Balor and a new faction led by Priest. It is an option worth exploring.

WWE can lay the foundation for El Campeon versus Main Event Jey Uso

One of the great things about setting up a faction that includes Damian Priest, Jey Uso, and Rhea Ripley is the potential for new storylines. Sure, they can be buddy-buddy to start things off, but everyone knows that a great faction always breaks up at some point. So, if WWE pulls the trigger on this, that will surely happen.

When it does, the feud that everyone will be looking out for is El Campeon versus Main Event Jey Uso. Granted, they've already seen the match before, but there can be no denying that a rivalry between Priest and Uso, this time with a deep storyline, will be engrossing. The WWE Universe will be torn apart and agonizing over who to support, a situation that the Stamford-based promotion will revel in.

But, at this point, this is nothing more than mere speculation. Only time will tell if any of this comes to pass and if The Judgment Day will even break up.
