Dean Ambrose to return to WWE & retire 16-time champ, The Shield to reunite? 4 Ways Seth Rollins can end his in-ring career
Seth Rollins is currently involved in a feud with Bronson Reed. Following his loss at Crown Jewel, the Australian star attacked The Visionary last week during a Fatal Four-Way match. Given that, the duo could face each other in a rematch at Survivor Series on November 30.
However, The Architect is in the latter stage of his career and is fast approaching retirement. During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Seth Rollins admitted that he is closer to the end than the beginning. The Architect then went on to reveal his post-retirement plans.
While Rollins still has some years left in him, this piece will explore four potential ways he can end his in-ring career:
#4. Seth Rollins could put over Nathan Frazer
Nathan Frazer has made a name for himself courtesy of some impressive in-ring work. The talented star is often compared to Seth Rollins, and the company could use that to weave an interesting storyline in the future.
While there is still some time before one-half of the current NXT Tag Team Champion is called up to the main roster, the creative team could have Rollins put over the 26-year-old upon his main roster debut. The company could have Nathan retire The Visionary, which would not only skyrocket his career but also establish him as a legit star.
#3. Dean Ambrose could return to retire The Visionary
Jon Moxley, aka Dean Ambrose, took an exit from WWE back in 2019. The former Shield member has been performing in AEW since then. Moxley is bound to Tony Khan's promotion until 2027.
However, the Lunatic Fringe could return to the Stamford-based company once his AEW contract expires. If so, Moxley could feud with Seth Rollins following his comeback.
The company could book Rollins in a potential career vs. career match against Moxley, where the 16-time champ (two-time WWE champion, one-time World Heavyweight champion, two-time WWE Universal Champion, two-time Intercontinental champion, two-time United States champion, six-time tag team champion, and one-time NXT champion) could lose at the hands of the current AEW star and retire.
#2. The Shield could finally reunite
Dean Ambrose's potential return to the Stamford-based company could lead to a massive Shield reunion. The creative team could have Seth Rollins join forces with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns for one final time before he draws curtains on his career.
A potential Shield reunion would not only draw a lot of eyeballs but also open doors on several money feuds. Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns locking horns with some high-profile tag teams such as The Wyatt Sicks and The Bloodline would indeed be best for the business.
#1. A Triple Threat match between The Shield brothers
Another potential scenario could see Seth Rollins' final match being a Triple Threat encounter against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. The trio clashing with each other once again would be a dream come true for wrestling fans.
The Visionary ending his career with the same faces he started would be a perfect way to draw curtains on his career. While this potential angle does seem far-fetched currently, you never say never when it comes to pro wrestling.
