Did Samantha Irvin leave WWE because of Ricochet?
Samantha Irvin shocked the professional wrestling world after she announced her departure from the WWE ahead of the latest episode of RAW. On October 21, Samantha took to her social media accounts and informed fans that her stint in the Stamford-based promotion had come to an end.
The former WWE RAW ring announcer thanked her co-workers, including talents, the women’s locker room, production team, camera crew, and everyone in the company she worked with. In her special mentions, she thanked Triple H, Paul Heyman, Michael Cole, and other veterans for their guidance. Amid Samantha’s surprising exit, fans and pundits have been speculating the possible reasons that led to her departure.
One of the most popular fan theories is that the 35-year-old left the company because of her fiancé Ricochet, who recently joined AEW after departing WWE in June 2024. However, the erstwhile Prince Puma clarified on X (Twitter) that her fiancee was not coming to Tony Khan's promotion.
A report by Wrestling Observer Radio reiterated Irvin’s relationship with Ricochet had nothing to do with her decision to quit the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. The report claimed she wanted to focus on her music career, adding that Irvin had been thinking about quitting WWE for a year and finally decided to pull the trigger.
"She’s [Samantha Irvin] got some outside projects she wants to do; apparently, she couldn’t come to terms with how it worked with WWE, and off she goes. She’s actually been thinking about it for a year. She wants to get more involved with her music. It was just something she had been talking about for a long, long time, and finally pulled the trigger on. It’s not like she’s planning on going to AEW; not saying 100 percent that she won’t go. Ricochet actually tweeted that she’s not going and it’s not her intention to go there," he said. [H/T: Cultaholic Wrestling].
